The only time I've ever bought a ticket online was when I had a free ticket from a Blu-ray that forced you to use the code on Fandango. Every other midnight or early showing, I always buy tickets at the theater. And this isn't like back in the day when the theater got in only so many prints and that was it. With digital they can make as many copies as they needed. I remember when The Dark Knight came out, the midnight was scheduled for 3 screens. Demand was so high they expanded it in 9 screens that night. It was incredible.

It's technically cheaper at the box office. And I never trust fandango to award me regal points.

I buy tickets at the theater box office 95% of the time. I'm old school like that.

Unfortunately, since I'm working tonight, Fandango was the way to go. I was very lucky to get in for the first IMAX showing on time before they completely sold out.

Why on earth did the theaters in my town of Montreal decide that the Liemax was the best choice for this movie? when there's a perfectly good 15/70 actual real IMAX that usually gets these movies!

WTF!

Probably they decided they wanted to show it in 3D, the 15/70 version is only available in 2D (and no more than 20 theaters worldwide).

Here in NYC for instance, Lincoln Square used to be a real 15/70 location, but are playing this in digital IMAX 3D which won't be able to fill the screen (though laser IMAX renovation may come as soon as their Force Awakens run ends)
