Nobody is going to particularly like this comment but I don't think Han Solo dies in the movie but that it might be Chewie who buys the farm. Near the end of the trailer, Rey is bent over a furred character and I think it might be Chewbacca. While you can;t see it clearly, I saw what looks like Chewbacca's bandolier strap toward the right side of the screen, when Rey is crying. It makes sense, considering Chewie's life-debt to Han. Not to mention that Han is hugging Leia near the end, possibly consoling each other over the death of his long-time friend.

Even ESB had two very clear storylines: the adventures of the Millennium Falcon and the training of a Jedi. This one--if true, and that's a big "if"--just doesn't seem like a good STORY, on the most basic level. Just seems like "this happens" then "that happens", etc.
My philosophy is to basically ignore the theories and spoilers out there and let the happy Star Wars day just happen... make no judgments and have as little preconceived ideas in your head before going in (especially negative ones). Just have fun!!!!

[Show spoiler]Rey, Solo's daughter somewhat find the Millenium Falcon that just is there by chance on Jakku, and then get captured by a big ship where his father is? That's a lot more coincidence than Luke And Ben hiring a pilot in a bar.

That mind trick won't work. All my co-workers know how much I want to see this movie.

I see that it's also playing Thursday night... I think I can swing that.

Every theatre around me was just selling tickets for 3D screenings. I'm assuming they're just trying to sell out all the 3D before adding 2D screenings in December?

I really need to see this on Dec 17 but there's no way I'll see this for the first time in 3D.

Star Wars has always been 2D and I'd like to keep it that way, especially since I'm going to rewatch the OT at home before I go.

You know what I think about the death of a character SPOILERS!
[Show spoiler]I don't care, I want to find out when it comes to actually watching the film, why do people want to predict and potentially spoil the film for themselves. I'll never understand why people stress and analyse every inch of frame when it comes to big films like this.

They are pre-selling 'all' showings in my area. No particular format order at all... just preference. That would be weird to sell 3D only.

Ugh. You know what I meant. Some characters HAD to be in the PT. Others like Jabba, Boba and Chewie were thrown in for fun but were basically glorified cameos.

The PT is about how Anakin became Darth Vader. You really expect Anakin and Obi Wan not to be there?

I checked every theatre in and around Toronto and most theaters have it on two screens, but they're only IMAX/Liemax 3D and UltraAVX 3D. No 2D anywhere.

It's a bummer.

I'm expecting they'll add another screen in 2D without reserved seating. Will send an email to Cineplex to see if they know what's going on and to get confirmation.

Well... good luck! I want to eventually see it in IMAX 3D... but want 2D Dolby ATMOS for my first viewing.

The reason we haven't seen Luke yet is Mark Hamill is playing Khan and JJ Abrams is trying to keep it from leaking.

Yeah if he decided to really change the game and do a prequel trilogy that took place before Vader. Let's not act like Lucas didn't use OT characters and people's love for them as a creative crutch!

No doubt!

Jango/Boba Fett - nothing but complete and utter fan-pandering. Yes let's make Boba Fett's daddy the source for the entire clone army creation.

Anakin built C3PO - yeah right!

R2D2 - Yeah, just so happens that he was built to serve on Princess Leia's mother's ship. OK.

Chewbacca - totally unnecessary! The battle of Kashyyyk could have taken place with other wookies without featuring Chewbacca.

Anakin being from Tatooine - Why? And also, why Jabba the Hutt? Was it really necessary to have him in the PT?

Jawas and sand people - Why? Totally unnecessary!

Lucas made his universe much smaller in the PT with the constant foreshadowing and OT character cameos.
