I don't care if it didn't actually happen, I'll still enjoy the game. Ditto with Shadow of Mordor.

I'm sure you've noticed that in major films like this, 9 times out of 10 you have one woman for like, every nine men.

Star Wars is no exception, both previous trilogies featuring one major female character each with pretty much everyone else of importance being male. So when these new films seem to be making an effort to be more inclusive, that makes me happy. It's not about disliking men (I really don't) or wanting to see them entirely replaced with women (again, I don't), I just want to see more more female representation in films is all, and I think it's great that one of my favorite franchises is leading the way and being progressive.

I should add that, while they're few and far between, I don't think there's much to complain about when it comes to the depiction of women in Star Wars. Leia is a wonderful character, one of my favorites.
Fair enough! Well said

If done right, they wouldn't even need to shoot anything new for the latter, just use brief shots from deleted scenes or alternate takes. Returning to Kashykk wouldn't be a bad idea either, showing what the planet became under the Empire's control.
I'm pretty sure this is going to be the "Young Han Solo" movie. In Aftermath, one of the very short "interlude" sections is Han and Chewie getting ready to do some investigation shortly after the Battle of Endor and they get a call saying the Empire is removing part of their garrison on Kashykk. They decide to abandon their current mission and go to Kashykk to liberate it (and that's where the mini-story ends).

That could be a good story/action movie if they do it right.

It is still a great game, along with Shadows of Mordor ( I love that game also).

I just wish they didn't throw it all away. I wanted a third game.

Peter Mayhew:

"John, I liked very, very much. He’s a great actor. We had several scenes together, and John is one of those guys who knows how to react to any situation. He’s got a marvelous face… he’s got a wonderful personality. He has an advantage because he has a comic’s sense of humour.

Daisy… was a little bit solid. More like Natalie [Portman] on the other movies [the prequels]. But I think, once she gets to see everything going on, she’s going to enjoy it, because it’s going to relax her. She’s going to be one hell of an actress. She will tell you, she will say, ‘I never thought we could do this, but now I see it’.

When we were at Star Wars Celebration, she was completely different to how she was on set… I think she got taken aside by her agent and told not to be too stiff. So we watched her blossom, from a quiet young lady, into the girl who was there at Star Wars Celebration. She had blossomed; she was beautiful and full of personality. I think she’s got a lot of personality still to come out, and if the right movies come along, she will do very, very well."

I think he meant of her as person rather than her acting.

Eh, even if she is as stiff as a board she'll be in some good company. The more I hear the more I think this movie won't be some amazing masterpiece, not that I truly expected it to be but there's always something to be said for hype. Still, it's just gotta be a solid enough 2 hours of entertainment (which JJ is more than capable of delivering) and people will lose their minds over it.

Everyone and their Wookie will see the film once but if it sucks it is probably going to do Hobbit money from non-repeat business.

Told ya, Supreme Leader Snoke is Jar Jar Binks.

https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/co...ed_force_user/

"Yoda really comes from a tradition in mythological storytelling- fairy tales- of the hero finding a little creature on the side of the road that seems very insignificant and not very important, but who turns out to be the master wizard, or the master thing..." - George Lucas

Snoke is not human. His head is shaped like a snake, a cobra but perhaps slightly flatter and wider. His eyes are pitch black and reptilian. His mouth is closed but sort of bulbous. You cannot see teeth. He has an angry sneer about him. MakingStarWars.net
I know, I know. Silly. This guy must have spent days researching and watching all the films in deep concentration. Also Andy Serkis' voice is not explained. But nicely presented case, got me rather curious really. A totally new evil mastermind might work, but using someone from the previous episodes in a surprising way would be very brave storytelling, making more sense to have the story continue after the death of the Emperor who was supposed to be the mastermind of it all. He might not be the mastermind after all.

Palpatine was the mastermind of the Empire and the lead Sith, but as the saying goes, "nature abhors a vacuum". Someone would step up at a certain point in those 30 years, to fill that void of power and keep what's left of the Empire working. Kylo Ren may be that figure, or he could be working for someone else; we'll have to wait and see.

I've heard people use the word "solid" the same way Peter did. It was simply his way of saying that she was nervous and took herself very seriously on set because of it, perhaps to a fault. Seeing as this is Daisy's first studio film and her background is mostly in television, this isn't surprising. On television there isn't really time for many takes, so the actors have very little in the way of time to have fun or do multiple takes. They have to be all business most of the time and get it right in as few takes as possible... especially when they are guest stars like she was. On some TV productions, if they don't take what they're doing extremely seriously and get things right very quickly, they get sent packing. I've heard from a few people who were extras on set who have told me that Daisy was VERY good in her scenes, but that she did seem a little nervous and overwhelmed in between takes. Granted, this was in Abu Dhabi, so I'm sure she started to relax more as the shoot went on.

Having said all that, I know several people who have had less than positive things to say about Peter and the way he acts at times. I'm not saying this was the reason, but unlike Mark, Harrison, Carrie, and John, who all seemed to all have taken the time to reach out to Daisy and get to know her(and have all had nothing but positive things to say about her), Peter might have been standoffish with her and she may have been intimidated by him. There's also the rumor that due to his health, Peter only played Chewie during shots where he was sitting or in shots from the waste up, so Daisy may not have had much time to get to know him anyway.

As far as I'm concerned, the acting by Daisy in the trailers is perfect. She can perfectly conveys fear, rage, longing without words.

I'm not worried either. I've seen all her television work and she was always the standout on every episode she appeared in.

Doesn't surprise me to hear that Mayhew wasn't all Chewie, all of the time. Dude's had serious health problems for a good long while, and I'm genuinely amazed that he was able to take part in such a production at all.

I have no doubts this movie will be at least better than the Crapdom Menace and Acrap of the Clones.

It looks like an epic and (partially) bleak space fantasy movie involving Jedi & great characters. What a TRUE Star Wars movie should be.

He is just there for the publicity of the original actor being on set same as ROTS
