To be fair, Olivier couldn't have sold writing that bad.

I'm kinda watching Clone Wars backwards cuz I found the movie and first season insufferable, and that last season was surprisingly very good. But I'm about halfway through the Darth Maul stuff and it's becoming a chore again; just a lot of running around and ruining a character whose entire appeal is based on his mystique.

I do like that we see more of Anakin being a strong leader and more of a gradual descent to the Dark Side, but outside of that last season (all the arcs of which are quite good, even the Jar Jar/Mac Windu buddy cop comedy), it's not an essential show by any means.

Broken record time, but I'll say it again: S6 has some of the most fascinating Star Wars stuff I've ever seen, period.
I love The Clone Wars, I think it's fantastic, Rebels has great nostalgic camera angels, sights and sounds, but the Clone Wars is proper telly. The thing that gets me is that some of the arcs would have made great live-action movies, but unfortunately they wouldn't really be suitable as episodes, but it would have been great to have three movies timed around the clone wars itself.

That will be something to look forward to with the standalone movies, they don't have to be bogged down like the episodes, we can have a Black Hawk Down type movie in the Star Wars Universe it will work, they can do anything they like with them.

It's technically the beginning of the serie, but note that the entire 6 seasons are NOT in chronological order (althought you might not see the difference)

As others have said it jumps around a bit, you don't need it to set up the series. The actual episodes that make the movie have the production codes 1.01, 1.03, 1.04, and 1.18. So it jumps around a bit. Personally I got lost a few times, so if you do start a series watch, print out the link that was posted and watch the episodes in chronological order!

I really didn't like Tartakovsky's clone wars, it was too fast, I almost got motion sickness watching it and this is from a guy who loves 2D animation over CGI.

I'd have been more interested if each one was an hour long, and the tone was more in line with the films instead of being geared toward "tweens".
The episodes are almost all in tre-episode story arcs.
There is a reason TV cartoons are mostly in 20 minutes episodes, doing 22 40minutes episodes would cost too much (be either 2D or 3D) so instead of doing 4 to 10 40 minutes episodes they do the full 22 but with shorter episodes because it seems that in yankland everytime a TV series lasts less than 20 episode a season someone kills a kitty.

Yeah, they could've made an entire series of films out of the Clone Wars alone. Maybe one day they'll revisit that period too; current films are revisiting the OT period because they're aiming to exploit appeal to that generation of fans, but in 10-15 years even the prequels will be looked back upon with a pang of nostalgia by the adults who watched them as kids, so Disney/LFL will possibly look to capitalise on that too. But not yet...

As opposed to the UK where they run 5-6 episodes a "series" and call it a day?

To be fair, a lot of US television is headed for 13 episode seasons. Syndicated programs on channels like Comedy Central only have 10 episode seasons.

Was that for all episodes or just the one where Jar Jar is a jedi?
