I honestly highly doubt that they would reveal Rey to have Luke be her dad and just introduce some unknown character as her mother.

When putting logic into it, there can only be one explanation. Rey is Han and Leia's kid.

Think about it. Luke became a myth, and doesn't appear in any of the trailers so I think he is just Rey's uncle that shows up after sensing Han's death.

Not only that but Han had to leave the Millenium Falcon due to a gang chasing him (money issues), which only makes sense to give his child a safe place to grow up (Jakku) so they cannot attack him by using Rey.

It also makes sense about Rey crying with Han on the ground in a jacket on the left, and Chewie on the right neiling down at Hans body while Rey looks up at Chewie and cries as Han tells Rey he is her dad.

Funny how that scene takes place in the same Snowy setting where Kylo and Finn fight. Kylo kills Han in that scene. I doubt there are much more scenes like that with snowy trees.

Also in the new TV Spot, you see the Millenium Falcon fly out of snowy trees in the daylight. That would be piloted by Hans daughter Rey, which explains why she is shown alone with Chewie aboard the Falcon (and seen controlling it also in the same TV Spot). And I assume she takes off after Burning Han's body in the snowy woods. It all makes sense and seems reminiscent of the original trilogy.

So to answer the question: Is Rey a Solo or a Skywalker?

She is both. Leia Skywalker and Han Solo, but she adopts the Solo name and instead of adopting the Skywalker name, she instead adopts the Skywalker force powers.

Still have no idea how the Kylo fits into the story and plot of the Starkiller Base etc, but that will be revealed later I assume.

Ernest also said that, but I never said that Pegg's views were unique, I said I don't dig the hypocrisy. BTW I've yet to come across these hordes of people who love Clone Wars but hate the prequels as much as Pegg does, even so that's not the problem I have in the quoted post: it's Pegg happily working for George Lucas' Lucasfilm Ltd on the George Lucas created and executive produced Clone Wars which are a direct spin-off from the prequels he so despises, it's even got Jar Jar in it fer Chrissakes! But like I said on the subject before: dude gotta eat.

[edit] And as for the Clone Wars script somehow eliciting Ernest's Disney-like awe in Pegg, he even said in the interview that working on the JJ film hadn't got him this excited about Star Wars "in 32 years".

(Bear in mind that the prequels don't exactly float my boat so I'm not saying this as some rabid prequel defender whose honour has been besmirched.)

I hope it's revealed that Rey's mom is the lady that says "Stand by ion control...Fire" from the Hoth sequence in Empire. Oh wait, that would be if Lucas was doing Ep.7!

First off, you may want to spoil tag your comments. I don't know if you're guessing or if you are up to date on spoilers, there are some potential plot points that people may not want to accidentally read.

Secondly,
[Show spoiler]while I do think Han dies in this movie, the jacket that is shown in the scene were Rey is crying isn't Han's. Look at the cuffs. It is Finn's jacket. it is possible that Finn took his jacket off to cover Han, but I guess we won't know for sure until we see the movie. Unless, again, you've seen some spoilers that I've trying hard to avoid. .

I'm sure Pegg is looking forward to getting his own action-figure to one of the most heavily merchandized movies in the history of motion-pictures ...

Very sad to see that Daniel Fleetwood, the terminally ill man who got to see Force Awakens early, died today. I'm happy he got his wish.

It's heart-breaking, well done to everyone that made one of his final days very special.

Snoke concept art, courtesy of Indie Revolver:

[Show spoiler]

Very snake-like indeed. As they point out, the design they ended up settling for could be completely different so this isn't necessarily the Snoke we'll see in the movie. Still interesting to see though.

I'm stating the incredibly obvious, but in that classic Lucas-like way the name is only a changed vowel away from Snake, so using a serpent-like appearance wouldn't be a huge surprise. Looks damned cool though, if the Rebels can have their Fish Head Man then there also room in the story for Snake Head Man.

Plus Andy Serkis is guaranteed to do something interesting with it.

I had notice the "Snoke" "Snake" thing when I first read the name, like others, probably. If that is real, I'm a bit t surprised they took it so literally. However, it does support my theory that they may have been influenced by Ralph McQuarrie's concept art of the Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidous.

[Show spoiler]

As soon as I saw that, I thought it was Snoke. So, it could be. I mean, the Starkiller base looks like concept art for the Trade Federation ship a bit.

Yes indeed, I made the same observation about the name back when we first heard about this concept design (not that it takes a genius to figure out ). As a Swede I also can't help but think of the European grass snake, which happens to be called Snok in my language, and Snog in Denmark. If the plan is for him to have a serpent-like appearance they made it all kinds of obvious with the name.
