Cropped out of the photo and since I have an affinity for mountain bikes and those who ride them (paidgeek, etc.), from another project before Top Gun: Maverick – Raymond (on the left) at Sandy Ridge –

I hope the introduction of 8K tvs will drive the price of all 4K tvs lower.

By keeping the best tech for the 8K sets, sure. Cynical, moi?

Teaching Dolby Vision grading to locals last month with the colorist who’s graded recent projects like Sneaky Pete, etc. and did the color on restoration projects in the past like Taxi Driver and Lawrence of Arabia

You guys keep talking booths.
Booths my arse. If the famous pole were to show up, it’s greatness would be at least worthy of Hall H…. https://kyxy.radio.com/articles/feat...ic-cons-hall-h

not some measly booth! And Wabo, have you no love for this other one at the northwest of LA filming location which the paparazzi were unable to capture with their stinkin telephoto lenses –

But I was too busy following Tom and Joseph in the foreground –

Anyhow, filming for Top Gun: Maverick at this location in the valley wrapped today, so regular patrons (hailing by motorsickle or car) can come for eats, I’d imagine starting tomorrow. Support the ownership, good people.

Paul, one moment, I've got to find something that Kevin recently said in an interview.

From the President of CSI, Kevin S. (whom Geoff has indirectly referenced in the past - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...r#post15631804 )

“our current consumer monitors are likely to look quite lame in only a few years.”
https://www.studiodaily.com/2019/06/...inematography/

reading that lameness, are people still in the market for a 2019 TV? Me, I think I might be keeping my powder dry and using my discretionary money for more Goose beer –

You get your reservations yet for this yet? https://www.delish.com/food-news/a28...ations-photos/ You know the pole will be there.

You know my stance on it, unless the ZD9 blows up tomorrow then I'm not budging.

And BTW, I completely agree with your man on how HDR has transformed my viewing experience. Some may think he's blowing it out of all proportion, comparing it to the jump from B&W to colour, but I've made similar bold claims as to how much it's impacted upon me: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...t#post15574158

I also agree with him on the AI thing: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...i#post16496646. There are absolutely some areas where it can make inroads but will the day come that a movie will be completely graded by an algorithm? Dunno.

All this wooden pole talk and I think the metal post is feeling rather underappreciated. After all, it did have a front row seat for Tom and Jen’s (hopefully to become) iconic ride for Top Gun: Maverick despite the fact that no paparazzi nor photo agency could capture it, nevertheless, again exclusively offered on this thread with description like so –
