Its like Ed O'neil being known as Al Bundy, or Katey Sagal as Peg Bundy. They played those characters for so long thats what us people that grew up watching them know them as. You really shouldn't be so uptight.

I watched Fright Night for the first time last week. Horror is not my favorite genre by any means, but I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. It was just so damn funny in the first half. The comedy holds up very well, IMO. I enjoyed it 10 times more than I did with The Blob, which seemed so juvenile by comparison. I need to check out the special features one of these days (which lately are taking a back seat to getting in as many movies as possible in order to keep up with what I bought).

Well, I can finally join the party...

No damage to either case, booklet, or disc so the bubble mailer worked fine. I forgot to order a third disc which I usually do to amortize the shipping further and that always gets me a box mailed to me instead of the bubble envelope.

Now to watch the darn things!

Well technically there was zero effort put into these commentaries on TT part, as they have been available for free to download or stream for several years now.

If by zero effort you mean obtaining the rights to actually release them legally, then okay.

However, nothing in this world requires "zero effort"... even typing a post requires something.

they already had been released legally "FOR FREE"
these commentaries were recorded to begin with because Tom and his cast were aggravated there had never been any attempt on the studios part to do any special features on the movie, even though the movie's popularity had done nothing but grow over the years.

These commentaries were a gift from the talent to the fans. So yeah in terms of the actual creation of the commentaries TT had zero effort in them.

Twilight Time still had to get permission from Icons of Fright to include them on this release.

They said during their initial release that Sony didn't allow them to include special features on their release that weren't on the initial DVD releases. Clearly they changed their mind this time around.

Why not just Google a name/term you don't recognize? It's as easy as highlighting the text, right-clicking, and choosing the search option. Wouldn't that make more sense (and take far less time) than asking in the thread and waiting for a reply?

I watched this the other night and was more than satisfied with the picture quality. 4.25 out of 5, IMO. I did not notice any macro-blocking, but I wasn't looking for it and I did not look at any screenshots to know when it would occur. The movie held up just as well as I remember, which doesn't happen all that much these days for me. I had a blast watching it! Now I need to dive into the special features.

The textual content is the same although the layout and font is slightly different. For the most part the same images are reused although some have been reordered or resized and color corrected (probably to match the brighter reissue).
