No I didn't. And I have a history on this forum of saying it would be re-released.

But it would be amusing to go through the original FN thread and quote all the people who said the last release was the only one we would ever get.

They sometimes have these special offers when an item is out of stock like the above Blu at the moment. The price will go up again once its back in stock.
Damn. About $14. About $20 cheaper than the TT release shipped was if you got in on the sale.

Yeah it just depends if you care about lossless audio and features. I don't really care about features but audio is a must.

That's just people flapping their gums trying to create more monetary value in their copy.

However, those who wanted to sell their copy should have done it months ago when wind of this new release was first heard.

They'll take a hit now and not a pretty one.

Also, Twilight Time could be thrown in the pile itself as someone looking to 10 fold what the item is worth. $35 for a barebones release... Come now.

However, I do look forward to owning Fright Night on Blu and will pay the premium Twilight Time is charging. $35 is better than the $180 I almost paid 2 years ago to own this -- but sense reared its ugly head and I backed out at the last moment and bought about 8 movies with that money instead of one.

Fright Night 2 remastered listed on DVD

http://www.amazon.de/FRIGHT-NIGHT-Na...fright+night+2

It says Happy Maggots is the studio.

Another one:

http://www.amazon.de/NACHBAR-VAMPIR-.../dp/B00F467W9C

This one says studio is Coroner LTD

I downloaded FN2 from youtube to my PS3 and it looks great to me. It'll do til the Blu ray comes out

I'm gonna make a prediction as to what will be on this one. I wouldn't get too exited about a slightly better transfer just because it's on a 50. They will most likely use the same exact encoded file for audio and video. They may drop the isolated score to give those that bought the previous version a reason to have it. They'll probably include the filmed reunion panel that people have mentioned and either a new commentary or they secured the rights for the unauthorized one that's been floating around. Still that would be good release but the original would serve as a bare bones version with the exact same video. They may be greedy but I don't think they are trying to entice the same buyers to double dip. I think they are just trying to cash in on the crowd that was pissed they didn't get one. I wouldn't be surprised if they limited the release to 1 or 2 copies early on as well.

The transfer will come from the same master as the previous release. Its from a 4K scan already. There's no way I see them removing the isolated score. I think we'll see a few extras including a commentary track. Finally we should see some proper chapter breaks this time too

Of course you don't have the collector mentality because you only have 2677 BDs.

The actual date is 1/20. That ad was slightly off.

Any word if the encode is going to be different? I'm hoping they up the bitrate and put it on a BD50 but doubt they will.

OK, that part is good news. Now hoping they re-encode it to get it in the area of 30 mbps.

Usually, you can sort of predict when these preorder dates will be, but in this case, that would seem to fall on New Year's Eve, which I can only imagine would be problematic for many potential customers.

Or Christmas Eve which would also be problematic for many potential buyers. Both New Years Eve and Christmas Eve are on a Wednesday this year.
Seems like they might have to do it on another day besides Wednesday.

Do we know for fact that this will be up for pre-order? Considering this is a re-fulfillment of a prior released title I don't see the need for a pre-order period. Why not just wait until 1/20 and then say go? Every copy sold will already be in stock and can go out immediately that way.

That being said I will be on board w/the re-issue come Jan. So interested to see what extras we get this time around.
