Oh ok cool! The sooner, the better. Love this movie.

Got my order in. Fright Night and Birdman Of Alcatraz. Now, if they re-release Christine I will be one super happy camper.

I hope that everyone who missed out the first time (like myself) can get a copy.

It's officially number 1 of 3000 with a black sharpie.
I'll also autograph it for an additional $20.15.
Plus, I'll throw in the sharpie that I used for both the autograph and numbering the disc for free!
So, $2500 and it's all yours!!!
Hurry! The package deal expires at midnight!!!
Ill take it. If someone else has already claimed it ill go as high as $3500. Your autograph alone is worth the price. 😜😜😜

i had my old TT fright night blu with the magnet up on ebay till 2 days ago,( it was for sale for 2 months and got zero bids even with very low starting price ) it eventually sold for 40 dollars. Ever since this new edition got announced nobody really cared for the first edition anymore. So that puts the whole limited edition stuff a bit in perspective.

The old disc was being hawked on Amazon and other outlets for upwards of $150 well before the new version was announced and some folks were going for it. I unloaded my copy for $75 shortly after the announcement, an amount I was more than happy with. This 30th Anniversary edition will command high prices once again UNTIL Twilight Time comes out with the 33rd Anniversary edition in 2018. It's a vicious cycle. I think this is it for me. Only way I'll buy again is if they bring Roddy McDowall back from the dead for a commentary. Transfer-wise I don't think this can be improved upon short of a photochemical restoration, which not only does it NOT need but nobody will finance. PQ, as it stands now, is as good as it gets IMO.

Yeah you had to list it early before everyone found out. As soon as it was stated on their Facebook like 4 months ago I put it up for auction and got 130 for a used copy. if it had been sealed I could have got closer to 200 I think. I held back 35 of it for this new edition of course

WOW, this may be gone by tonight or tomorrow. Even with 5000 copies it still was a huge seller.

Can't really help you - but I've got the exact same pre-order in (Fright Night, Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, and Bride Wore Black). I figure you can't go wrong with Jeanne Moreau .

Pretty much guarantees the Christine re-release will be 5,000 copies as well.

We knew it would be a big seller, but I thought it may last a bit longer since there is an international release.

I would be very surprised if they didn't bump it up to 5000

There are lots of reasons this title is selling briskly. The issue is probably mainly scalpers, but there is also the fact that the original release was one of TT's first titles, and many people missed out on it. This time around, TT has upped the ante by including lossless 2.0 (and the 5.1) audio and additional extras.

Sony did release this in Europe/Asia but with only DD 5.1 audio and no extras, so that release is really only a stop-gap for fans of the film, or for those who need foreign-language options.

As regards Christine, that is a more recent TT release, and there is a comparable release from Sony abroad, so I don't think that re-release will sell out as quickly, unless TT finds some way to sweeten the deal (which they may well do).

I don't understand why this movie is so popular. I always just thought it was ok... nothing to write home about. There were a lot of these slocky horror tongue-in-cheek fun horror movies made in the 80s. Why is this one so popular? No one ever bragged about owning it on DVD.

Horror has always been popular and collectible in the disc era, it's just that DVD reached saturation levels at the same time, so there were always lots of discs around, and international buyers had to be cognizant of region-coding and PAL/NTSC issues. With Blu-ray, the encoding is universal and region-free, and supply is comparatively limited. Everybody wants a piece for themselves, and they don't want to pay through the nose to get it second-hand later.

I think it's more of the fact that it is considered a 'collectible' more than anything. With the hoards of collectors in this world, there are definitely 5000 of them out there and it really is a niche title, which brings all of them out.
As for it being released internationally, IMO that is overblown. I rarely ever import, even though I have a multi-region player. Most films seem to be released eventually in all regions (especially Sony releases), so patience usually works out. With the TT releases, you will get your money back if you want to sell them later on, so risk is at a minimum.

Dear Mom and Dad I just saw this movie Fright Night, it was amazing. You should really check it out. Also, war is hell. Hope I make it home.
