Fortunately, I bought my copy in the first run of 3000, but now that the next run of 5000 is already gone, it just goes to show the sad state Blu-ray is in when an obviously popular title still sells out and the studios don't get it.

it's more like Sony.. they've all but abandoned catalogs in the u.s. since they are HURTING for money (Sony U.S. that is)... if it isn't a 100% guaranteed instant profit maker they're literally not going for it

For the first 7 days orders should be limited to one per address. After the 7 day window, if any copies are left open up the orders to 3 per address. After a month, unlimited per address. We all know these horror titles will sell out in under a month anyways, so there's no need to worry that they wouldn't be able to sell the aloted 3-5k. |

A glitch on thenumbers puts This is Where I Leave You's first week sales at 2,822.
If it is true, then once again, for a lot of these titles they are worthless if a 2014 major studio release cannot sell more than 3k in its first week. edit: Woody Allen's Magic in the Moonlight is at 2,002 copies. I say glitch because it shows all "new" releases for the date but they would otherwise not be able to be seen due to them being so low in the chart. |

The release date & time was known quite a while ago, so there was plenty of notice. It was not very difficult at all to set a reminder on a calendar to log in at the specific time that they go on sale and place an order. I really don't understand the anger over something that was available for 24+ hours.
If you wanted it bad enough, you had plenty of time to prepare. If you didn't prepare and weren't able to order, then lesson learned for the next time. Especially if you missed out on the first Fright Night and/or Christine, then failed again on this one. It's not hard to place an order for anything within a few hours of when it goes on sale. All it takes is a little bit of planning. It doesn't matter if the limit was 1, 3, or 10 per order. |
