![]() I've never liked Legend of the Witches as I've always found it boring and despite (because of?) it's obvious mondo credentials I'm finding it hard to get interested in Secret Rites. As I'll be buying this anyway at some point I'm hoping this one case where they go all out with the bonus material. |

There are a few BFI titles I wanted to get (Orphee, The Caretaker, Room at the Top and Blue Black Permanent). Had hoped that the BFI might release the TV series Dark Towers at some point.

Wonder what's going on with Nil By Mouth? Hopefully the delay is due to positive reasons (new restoration, extras) rather than anything sinister.

As I already have Yentl, Hair & The Young Girls of Rochefort and am very happy with those editions I'll pass on these. But I'm in for Scandal, Moulin Rouge, Spetters (hopefully this is a sign of more 1970's Paul Verhoeven to come) and maybe Varda by Agnes. I just don't know if I'd watch Varda by Agnes again - it was enjoyable but a little too long winded. Good to see Betrayal getting a Blu Ray release even if it is sub-par Costa-Gavras and like the Verhoeven release hopefully a sign of his earlier work making its way to UK Blu Ray premiers. |

I believe Spetters is with MGM, and relatively easy to licence, so I wouldn't get too excited about getting more 70s Verhoeven based on that.

Really excited about Betrayal. It’s a severely underrated piece of work, but given the subject matter I can see why the bfi are revisiting it.
Pleased to see they’re releasing VARDA too. I had that one pegged for digital only, so it’s a nice surprise. |

Another excellent line up. What with the imminent British Transport Films Vol.13, Do Not Adjust Your Set and At Last the 1948 Show DVD sets the BFI have outdone themselves this Q4 (yes BTF 13 is Q3 but only just so point still stands)
Though they're all upgrades and as such probably not week one purchases I'm in for Scandal, "that Flipside title I'm not excited about but I want a copy with the booklet", Hair and Les Demoiselles de Rochefort. Betrayed looks good to plus it's 1988 vintage suggests a more level headed treatment of it's subject matter than say the recent hilariously transparent Imperium. Varda by Agnès looks worth a stream rather than a purchase. Only ever seen snippets of Yentl but what I've seen I've liked so once it hits £6 in Fopp it no doubt will be mine, as no doubt will Moulin Rouge and Spetters. Basically I want (nearly) all of them. ![]() |

Very happy about Betrayed being announced. It was one of those films I had hoped a UK label would acquire eventually. Hoping there will be some interviews included. Ditto with Scandal (was there just the one Dusty Springfield song on the soundtrack?).

Outrageously excited for the full 82 minute "in Conversation" talk Agnes gave at the BFI last year being included on the Blu-ray. That ALONE is worth a purchase for me. Missed it by one day and was hoping so badly that they had taken the opportunity to record it. So happy.

I certainly welcome any new Costa-Gavras release, but it's baffling that we still haven't had Z.
