I wonder when we will see the dual/triple-formats disappear from the market. I wonder if they help people go blu or make them not care since DVDs are still made.

I think the "dual" stuff has been increasing and I think that is the basic plan going forward.
tons of bd only releases are being re-released with dvds being added.
At this point imo--whether people that only collect bds want them or not--these type of dual releases make the most sense.

You can throw the DVD in the garbage if you're so annoyed by it anyway.

Indeed.
However, for me, the real issue is to sell discs (which always have a price to pay for the consumer) you don't really need.

If you don't are HD equipped, then you only need the DVD.
If you are, the DVD is something you wouldn't, I suppose, pay for (or maybe just £1 to put it for the kids in the car).

In that case, it seems logical, and even more, since they can now stop all the bargains, and start all over again to the high price point, since it will be "new products", kinda like Disney vault movies, in fact.

However, again, seeing MoC turning back from the HD only policy to dual format, looking to the kind of sales we have in France (with small distributors like Carlotta or bigger like Fox), Dual format seems the most financially interesting distribution way.

I simply hope that the new BFI editions won't be too expensive compared to the former ones, and that BFI will get the benefits to re-release these movies.
I think they mostly do a good job, and that some of these releases deserve some more sales.

Or sell it on ebay to help offset the increased cost!

damn, Saturday Night and Long Distance Runner cancelled.

At least the former is still on Zavvi for the same price, shame about LDR which has jumped to over 10 pounds.

Yep that's the only one I wanted and had once the chance to purchase it while it was on stock but postponed it. £8.74 at Amazon marketplace though.

I'm glad I bought the Red Desert and Saturday Night & Sunday Morning.

Zavvi has free International shipping?

Just curious...for those in the US that have used them, how do they ship and typically, how long does it take?

Thanks!

I live in Northern Europe and it took less than a week. Maybe 4 days or so. I'm happy.

Well...you're a bit closer to the UK than me.

Anyone from the US?...I know CCFixx has ordered from Zavvi.

Hey CC...how long do you normally wait for delivery?

But then again many say packages arrive quicker or as quick to the US from UK than to Europe.

It depends on title basis (if in stock and when they actually ship), fastest for me to Finland from Zavvi about 10 days and the average time about 2 weeks.

Received two of my BFI orders from Amazon yesterday, about two weeks ahead of delivery estimate at that. I guess I'm pretty lucky as only 3 of the 19 that I ordered were canceled.

MichaelB...a quick question for you.

I just read the newsstory on blu-ray.com about the (2) Ozus coming out in late May. Is it true that the supplemental films (A Hen in the Wind and A Mother Should Be Loved) will only appear in SD on the DVD, or will they appear in HD on the BD as well.

Thanks!
