BFI are reissuing things sans-booklet from now on unless it's a Flipside title, in which case it will be reissued with new artwork and still Dual Format - booklet intact. Bad news, I know, but I advise everyone to buy some of the older titles they care more about just in case they go OOP.

Still waiting for HMV to upload Faces to their site. Might have to email them, but they haven't responded to my last two...
Both films have the new artwork (single discs), but only Saturday Night and Sunday Morning had a booklet. I guess it's totally random now whether you get one or not.

Dammit. Kinda wish I'd got them just after they went OOP (were still about £7-8). This whole booklet-ness is starting to get frustrating...first Hard to Be a God, now these!

Just saw the LFF lineup and it looks as if Cy Enfield's HELL DRIVERS (1957) is on its way...could it be a Flipside title? Says it's a BFI restoration, so I assume so (and if not, then maybe Network).

I don't believe Network have lost the rights to this one, so I imagine it will come from them. A BFI edition would probably be a stronger release mind!

For anyone interested in the upcoming Quay Brothers collection, it's only £10.99 from HMV right now (to pre-order). Not sure if that's an error since this is a 2-disc set, but that's extremely good value for basically every Quay Brothers short not already released on Blu-ray in the UK, plus Chris Nolan's short film and a revised and expanded booklet! Probably in a slipbox/slipcover too...

When Network lost the rights to the Day the Earth Caught Fire they drastically reduced the buy direct prices of their two DVD editions a few weeks before the BFI announcement and promoted them as part of a half arsed flash clearance sale. If something like that happens with Hell Drivers we'll no doubt know that it's coming out elsewhere.

I just checked the site and it Hell Drivers appears to be unavailable for order:

http://networkonair.com/shop/385-hel...l-edition.html

Perhaps they have lost the rights after all? As you say though, you'd think there would be some existing stock worth clearing.

EDIT: Wait I just remembered this from a few months back (http://www.theunmutual.co.uk/)

As announced recently (see below), Network are treating fans to not one, but two, Patrick McGoohan Blu-Ray movies in 2016, as part of their ongoing 'The British Film' series of releases.

The first of these, it has been announced, will be the classic early 1960s film 'All Night Long', which is also being re-released on DVD format, following a superb quality transfer from the original film elements, and the latter the movie 'Hell Drivers'.
Guess it must be coming from Network after all! Hopefully they'll upgrade League of Gentlemen next

I'm not sure if this is happening in other branches of HMV but the Watford branch has many BFI titles as part of their £5 for 30 offer.

These include Man With A Movie Camera, Vivre Sa Vie, Rashomon, The Seven Samurai, The Battle Of The Falkland Isles, Aguirre Wrath Of God steelbook among others.

Think he meant 5 for £30, in which case this offer has been on for at least a couple of weeks now...

Or is everyone being a little facetious?

That would be an ecumenical matter.

Sorry chaps and rapta. Typing error. Would that were the case. Five for thirty pounds. I would have saved a fair amount but I already have most of these BFI releases.

I did pick up The Killing Of A Chinese Bookie, Night & The City, Saturday Night & Sunday Morning, The Edge Of The World & Late Autumn.

Recent release On The Black Hill is £9-99 as well.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but have BFI switched from clear cases to blue Amarays? I received 3 out of 4 BFI discs in blue Amarays last week. Nosferatu and Pasolini from Base, Women In Love from Amazon. Valentino (also from Base) arrived in the usual clear case. All were shrinkwrapped and came with booklets.
Hope they didn't change their packaging for good...

Ah, guess I never had a single BFI disc before. Thanks a lot! Looks crappy, though.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Picked up four titles in HMV and they're all in blue cases.

Never mind.

I'd email that photo to the BFI and ask if it's a bootleg.
