I am looking at picking up the BFI release of Cry of the City to supplement my Kino US release as it appears to be a superior encode with bfi not trying to cram everything on a BD25. Would anyone know the page length of the included booklet?

I don't have it immediately to hand, but as I recall it's not extensive, perhaps around a dozen pages or so. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I was just curious, as it also has an additional commentary and a video essay if I recall. So I would likely pick it up either way. I would clean up on that Fopp sale if I was in the UK.

I find it infinitely interesting that whole cultural under current that passed just close enough to the radar to not go completely un-noticed and now is fondly remembered was a successful way of portraying the ordinary population in a very non mundane way.
It's what the flipside range has managed to do very successfully , films like Deep End and Bronco Bullfrog much less stilted than previous portrayals and hold the interest so enchantingly. |

Looks like BFI are reissuing Rossellini's The War Trilogy, for those that missed out before: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073LK1N12
Slightly surprising, since they advertised it as Limited Edition and even numbered it, but there you go! |
