Targets is a great announcement (and unexpected).

The Terror as an extra perhaps?

I recommend every article on that site

I was just going through my Universal DVDs taking off the Dietrich ones I'm upgrading. Surprisingly Seven Sinners wasn't one I owned. When I was only buying DVD, I'd go through lists of certain actors/directors for the 30s/40s and 50s and pick up titles I didn't own that had UK DVD releases. This one slipped through the net

Apart from Angel, the other Dietrich title I have is Follow The Boys. Again not sure why that isn't in the set, unless they plan to do another set. I'm not sure what other titles they could include if they did

Looking forward to Targets and Mogul Mowgli (if it wasn’t for the restrictions I would have seen it this weekend)

I already have too many problems with Boris Johnson to count, but the fact I won’t be able to see Possessor in a cinema makes him even more irredeemable than he already was.

Anyone know if Pasolini has been in a 2 for £16/BOGOF offer before?

The Abel Ferrara film? I can’t say regarding the specific offer you mention, but I bought my copy at Fopp, several years ago, for £6, so it’s certainly been discounted before.

Can't wait for Targets. I don't think I've seen it since Moviedrome showed it in the late 90s.

Probably been said dozens of times on these boards before, but what a phenomenal series Moviedrome was back in the day,i saw so many great movies for the first time during it's run.
I feel so privileged that I got my film education from growing up in the 80s & 90s with stuff like Moviedrome, The Incredibly Strange Film Show, Vids, Film4, 4Later, the BBC showing late films before the shutdown (usually a Hammer film or something). Was a real golden age.

Jhst to let you guys know, BBC 2 (in association with BFI I think) are running a British film premier every Saturday for the next few weeks.

I posted in the movie section but as expected, it got lost within the other threads.

I watched it and I thought it was quite good. The lead was excellent. Loved the setting as well. Very decent little film imo.

Hope you enjoy.

I’m most looking forward to Dirty God.

Tempted by BFI's release of Ozu's Good Morning but it would bug me knowing the Criterion is the better presentation of the film and has more extras. I wonder if a reissue is possible given they did the same with Tokyo Story.

Tokyo Story is the BFI’s flagship Ozu title. His Citizen Kane, if you like. I can’t see them revisiting all of his other works to the same degree. I’d be overjoyed if they did, but it seems unrealistic at this point. The BFI had major plans for Ozu a decade ago, but the project eventually ran out of steam and the staff spearheading it moved on. The market has only tightened further since then.

The Criterion edition of Good Morning is superior, particularly in the extras, but the BFI is no slouch. And at £6.99, it’s a bargain. The Criterion will cost you, what, four times that? It depends how committed you are, I suppose.
