WOW!!! Finally...it has been too long. I like the "Eclipesque" approach to releasing these in a themed set. These would likely have been "supplementary" films packaged with features taken from better source material on blu-ray. That will bring the total to 19 films. Just 14 left to go...

Her Private Hell, "Britain's first sex film", gets preliminary release date 20 February 2012. Needless to say that it will be part of Flipside series.

Are the Flipside series re-releases packaged the same as the first releases? I have gaps in the collection and would prefer that they all look the same!

Question: Does anyone own Requiem For a Village? I found the film through a 3rd Party seller and am curious, but want to know the rewatchability of the film before I splurge. Since it's such an obscure blind buy I almost want to spend my money on something like Great White Silence just that tiny bit more.

Anyone's thoughts on that release?

On a related note, thrilled to see the French Cancan disc sourced from the Gaumont remaster. I just watched the Gaumont French Blu-Ray disc two nights ago and the transfer goes in my top 5 Blu-Rays... ever. It's astounding. Happy to hear the BFI is the same!

They are in dual format blu-ray cases, like all the other dual format BFI releases

Warner themselves have not given any indication of releasing Dracula aka Horror of Dracula on HD. Lesser known Hammer films are getting BD releases and the most celebrated ones are sitting on barebones cropped Warner DVD releases
Maybe I should just pick up the TCM collection of Hammer Horror to bide my time till the BD's for the Hammer Dracula and Frankenstein series actually get announced.

+1. That's another 120 quid the BFI lost.

Thanks for saving my wallet, though.

I have most of the dual format releases bar the last two flipside releases. I have bought most of the flipside recently for £8.99/£9.99. I would struggle to select 20 titles that I didn't have, otherwise I would have jumped at the offer

I suppose that's the problem when I have nearly all their recent releases from the last few years

I'm away on business in Edinburgh and popped in Fopp. Big mistake. Three trips and handfuls of BFI releases and about £180 worse off. Damn you BFI releases being so reasonably priced. My BFI colllection already covers two large shelves, soon to be a third. They had both Famous Five DVDs with the books but I could not justify spending an extra £16 in total for the books. They only had one regular edition in stock so I ordered the other one from Moviemail. They also had the Bodysong Limited Edition for £20 but again I did not really want to spend the extra £14. I really want the Terence Davies boxset next

I don't know what's worse, my obsession with MOC or my obsession with BFI

Now how I am going to get all my lovely purchases on the plane as hand luggage

BTW does anyone have a list of all the BFI DVD catalogue numbers and the titles. I have got over 100 titles on DVD and so have the catalogue numbers for those, but I'm interested in what other titles have been released so that I can see what I am missing. The ones that I have bought in dual format re-issues, I wouldn't be bothered in buying those on DVD only. There were a couple I picked up in Fopp that I was never aware of, so if I had a list then it would be really beneficial

What I might do is start a Wiki page, that people can update with the details, as I think it would be really helpful. If anyone is interested then PM me, and I will provide the details

I now have a Wiki page in place. This list is from all my BFI titles I own, including six that I don't own. While searching for BFI, I found a COI DVD called Misinformation which I had never heard of which I have ordered. Does anybody else have this?

The link for the Wiki page is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BFI_Releases

Although knowing my past experience with creating pages, I'm sure it will get deleted for some reason

This is on Wikipedia, but I will be creating my own Wiki soon

I am wondering if I should pick up the BFI DVD of Tintin and The Golden Fleece or wait to see if they will release a BD in the near future.

As I said in my post above I bought some BFI stuff in Fopp. I picked up Tintin and the Golden Fleece for £4, but it was the English only dub. I then went in again a couple of days later and found the other one with all the special features and the French version (the one you link to) so I bought that as well. I would recommend getting it as I don't see it coming out on Blu-Ray for a while. Have you got the other Tintin DVD Tintin and the Blue Oranges. They are different but are both worth having
