They're self generated. Just go to rarewaves.com, wait for the pop up to appear where you sign up with your email address and the code will be sent there. After that you can use other email addresses or temporary ones to get as many codes as you want.

Very glad I decided to finally get a copy of Short Sharp Shocks. Haven't tested/watched the two discs out yet, but I've had a look through the booklet (very impressed). I really hope they have ideas for a second volume.

Either I read that on the Facebook group recently and forgot about it, or this is the first time I've heard/read about it. Great news. Many thanks for sharing this.

United Kingdom Babymother (26th July)

Babymother is widely considered to be the first truly Black British musical, grounded in the vibrant, raw energy of the Black dancehall scene at the heart of late-1990s Harlesden, the hard core of British reggae.

Special features
  • Newly remastered in 2K by the BFI.
  • We the Ragamuffin (1992, 26 mins): Julian Henriques’ musical shot and set in Peckham.
  • Julian Henriques and Parminder Vir on Babymother (2021, 44 mins): the director and producer talk about the film’s genesis and production history.
  • Anjela Lauren Smith in conversation with Corrina Antrobus (2021, 49 mins): the actress discusses her part as Anita.
  • Carroll Thompson in conversation with Rōgan Graham (2021, 32 mins): the singer and songwriter discusses her role as music consultant on the film.
  • Archive Q&A / Babymother gallery (2021, 28 mins): an archive Q&A with the filmmakers from 1998 which plays over a selection of images.
  • We the Ragamuffin gallery.
  • **First pressing only*** Illustrated booklet with a recent essay by producer Parminder Vir and an archival essay by Stuart Hall originally published in Sight & Sound, notes on the special features and full credits.
UK / 1998 / colour / 82 mins / English, with optional English hard-of-hearing subtitles, original aspect ratio 1.85:1 | BD50: 1080p, 24fps, LPCM 2.0 stereo audio (48kHz/24-bit)

It was an answer to a question I asked Ben in reply to something he said in a thread in the group. I was hoping for an answer more along the lines of another set of short films BUT in a totally different genre. His answer was literally either "SSS vol2", "SSS V2" or "SSS 2".

Widely considered by whom? It either is the first or isn't.

Default One of Our Aircraft is Missing

an amazing film. The extras are awesome. I remember seeing target For Tonight on channel 4 and thinking it pretty hard hitting stuff.

I hope the rumours around the BFI working on A Canterbury Tale are true!

I've been longing for an HD version of A Canterbury Tale since the format's inception - would I have believed back in 2007 that I'd have to wait till the '20s before it happened

My Volume one came minus the booklet which is shame because I like to document the short films on these BFI discs so I'll be straight in for this one too.

I think a lot of the films in vol 1 are in HD on BFI Player for free, wonder if it will be the same here?
