Personally, I'd love the see Pasolini's Trilogy of Life on 4K.
There are so many tantalizing choices, but the one I'd buy in an instant is Of Flesh and Blood. It's OOP anyway, and they said they'll be bringing it back eventually, so I hope it will be either in 4K or expanded with Koreeda films that are still unavailable in the UK. I'd actually prefer some of his documentaries or TV work, since everything else is already English and Region B friendly.

In terms of BFI titles, would definitely like to see The Leopard in 4K UHD.

Another fabulous performance from Burt Lancaster (expertly conveying a certain dignified nobility) and Claudia Cardinale too. And Alain Delon. It's a sombre but also magisterial film.

Another would be Tess – definitely one of the most beautiful films ever made.

Around the same time as the Jarman box sets in 2018/19.

Zed and Two Oughts or how about any Greenaway on 4K? Was I the only one a bit peeved that the new Draughtsmans Contract restoration got passed up for UHD treatment? Maybe the improvement would be minimal on that due to 16mm, not sure.

Hi,
I am looking for a film edited by BFI. It is edited in the Dual DVD+Bluray format
Can someone tell me the size of the box in these editions? It is DVD-size package, or Bluray-size package?
Thanks you!

Ben posted on the FB group that the Svankmajer boxset is in print and available again - and more interestingly, is looking into a possible HD upgrade!

Just wondering, how quickly does the BFI shop usually ship your order, and how well do their manage their stock (e.g. can you expect to get an item you have ordered from them or can you risk that they cancel your order because it wasn't really in stock at all, when you placed it)?

Most newer oleds move the screen around slightly to avoid static object burn in for the text and the blue screen wouldn't be much different from watching a football match for 90mins so it should be safe unless you have it on really bright and on repeat for hours.

Spoilers ahead for those who haven't watched the film.
[Show spoiler] One's a static blue image and the other is a mostly green image (granted that moves). Burn in is from pixels losing their max brightness and so having to display 90% green pixels is quite similar to a constant blue.
You don't experience burn in on modern panels it unless you watch the same content repeatedly on high brightness for hundreds/thousands of hours, like the same news channel or the same video game hud. So you will be fine for a 79 minute film.

I have never seen a football game that consisted solely of a wide shot of an empty pitch.

Point is one predominant colour, whole screen or the majority of it, won't make a difference for that length of time. Why be obtuse about it, if you don't believe me do your own research.

Any given pixel of a football game is probably only the same color for 10-20 consecutive seconds, max.

Consecutive doesn't matter, with oled it's all cumulative - last thing I'll say on the matter.

Can't say I had but now I know...

Back on topic, apologies if this has been answered before but I could find any info - has BFI indicated any intention to reissue the Jarman sets?

For what it's worth Razorhead, I understand the point you are trying to make.

I think if someone watches Blue on a loop, they're in for trouble, but what and hour and a half of it I doubt will kill an OLED (even with ASBL off).

Might be useful if you've watched too much football and burned all your green pixels, stick blue on a loop and even it out a bit
