Just saw on the BFI’s Facebook that they are screening Face (1997) through September. Anybody know if there is a chance of a possible Blu ray in the future from them ? One of my most wanted titles.

RIP Sir Horace Ové, 1936-2023. His debut film Pressure (1976) is being shown at the London Film Festival (on 11th & 12th October), in a 4K restoration, as well as getting a UK-wide cinema release & hopefully this restoration gets a BD release.

The title is just Pressure isn’t it? The BFI told me they are eyeing a 2024 release date for a Blu-ray.

It's the same master so expect video to be very similar, probably a slight encoding edge on the BFI.

I think it is very likely that the audio is better on the BFI given Criterion's tagline that they have performed additional audio restoration which will have done more harm than good.

As for extras, the following are on both releases:

• "Un tournage à la champagne" 1994 compilation of outtakes from the film
• Screen Tests

The following are exclusive to the BFI:

• Jean Renoir lecture & Q&A at the National Film Theatre (1963, audio only)
• Audio commentary by film historian Philip Kemp (2003)

The following are exclusive to the Criterion:

• 1962 introduction by director Jean Renoir
• Interview with Renoir scholar Christopher Faulkner
• Interview with producer Pierre Braunberger from 1979
• Video Essay by Christopher Faulkner on Renoir’s methods

BFI's Partie de Campagne can't be ordered from The Netherlands. Wonder why this is, it never happened with other BFI titles.
Are people from countries, other than the UK, able to order?
