If you're English, then it has a happy ending.

Ditto Napoleon.

Your mileage may vary; I'm not particularly sensitive to outdated attitudes in older media, but I personally found this one a bit grim.

A misspelling, but if intentional that’s nigh on genius in the context of L’Argent

Has anyone here bought this or has anything to say about it?

I am a bit curious about it, since it just made Sight & Sound's top ten list of best Blu-rays of 2023.

Here's the list, if anyone else wants to see it:

As reported in the UHD thread, the French 4K release of The Draughtsman’s Contract has been delisted from Amazon/LCQF, but is still available from Potemkine and Librairie Ombres Blanches (the latter of whom I ordered from and received swiftly.)

I haven't seen the blu-ray sorry, but it's nice to see the best discs of the year list back (I couldn't find it online for 2022, was there one, or were they too busy with the Greatest Films of All Time poll?), I really enoy reading through them.

Eureka had the rights to it at that time. At least the remake.

Floating Weeds is one of my favorite films of all-time, and I've seen the 4K restoration twice in theaters now, so I've been hoping Criterion would announce it. I will probably cave and buy the S. Korean release one of these days.

I never got around to buy the Eureka release, which I still kick myself for. I do keep my old Criterion DVD for the same reason. A new release is long overdue.

Is anyone still waiting for their purchases from the August sale? Or am I the only unlucky one.

I have just seen pictures on FB this last week of people finally getting their stuff from the sale, so it looks like they are still shipping orders out.

I finally got my August pre-orders. Will probably get into Short Sharp Sticks tonight since I won't have time for a feature.

HMV just cancelled my order of The Phantom of the Opera from their sale...

Didn't realise it was a deleted title? Had been meaning to get it for years and thought now was finally my chance to get it cheap as well. Failed on both counts...

Great gritty film. I hope that a Blu Ray release will be a forthcoming.

The cover for The Eternal Daughter changed on Amazon. For me this looks better than the previous one. The product description mentions a Reversible sleeve featuring the US artwork now. Not a 100% sure, but I think this is recently added.

I don't think it has been discontinued (BFI online shop just says currently OOS) otherwise Ben would've probabaly mentioned it in the BFI Facebook group which I where I found out about the BBC Documentary set they released was going OOP & had been reduced in price on their site/in their shop.

Maybe just ask in the Facebook group & someone will let you know.
