My copy from the 3 for £25 at BFI just arrived. It has booklet and there was an unexpected series of postcards with it too.

Ah you have beat me to it, my order also arrived in nicely packed box with the same. The other two items Targets and Brannigan also have booklets by the weight of them.

I'm trying to complete the BFI Flipside Blu-Ray collection this year or the next. I did find 3 of the out of print ones on eBay (The Bed Sitting Room, Privilege, The Party's Over), but Joanna is not found even there.

Any idea why this one is so rare? Is there hope of finding it anywhere?

[edit] I guess I'm not an experienced collector, might just need to set an eBay alert and wait for it to pop up.

I was able to get a second hand copy of Joanna a couple of years ago. It was the single most expensive copy I own so far. I think it is because it's a Fox licensed title. All of luck to you finding these titles.

I watched this recently. Bought it at the time but never watched it. As a collector I understand the need to have it (I’m the same) however it is an absolutely terrible film and the actress in it is so annoying. Couldn’t believe how bad it was. I don’t think it sold well, and with rights issues it got deleted quickly.

I think that and Privilege with the original artwork are the rarest of the Flipside series and go for silly money

It’s rare because it’s a 20th Century Fox title. I find the movie charming if narratively all over the place. I was very lucky in lockdown - one of the bargain dumpster sites - maybe even musicmagpie sold me a copy for £18.99.

Which is the original artwork? They seem to have the same release date.

The bottom one has NO spine number )they forgot to include it & I ended up getting the original single BD ONLY release of the top one. Still on the hunt for the dual format release of the release I have) & I think the recent re-released one WITHOUT the 2 short films uses the same artwork as the top one.

Any particular reason why it matters? I would say the first, only because it mirrors the artwork of the non dual format release from the year before, which I have.

I'm on the hunt for the dual format release of the top one as I have the original BD ONLY release of it & it looks out of place next to the dual format releases of everything else in the series that I have.

I have the first 9 BD only releases so it does not feel lonely!

For the budding completist you must have this DVD (number 000) as well:

It matters because the spine is totally different to all the others in the series. So it’s quite glaring in the collection. I’m not OCD but even I find it annoying.

I see, not having that version, whatever OCD I have isn't triggered.

I have ALL of the first 9, except the one I mentioned, as dual format releases & I didn't get the re-release (ie the version with the new artwork that is missing a spine number) of the one I mentioned. I basically have everything in the series except for 2 or 3 of the newest releases which I must get round to getting. There are a couple of titles in the series that I Have or will get other, non BFI, releases of certain titles such as the Milligan double bill (Got the Severin set) & Requiem for a Village for the extras.

As was the case of Joanna I got really lucky to be able to locate a copy on a French website. It's missing the booklet but I don't really care that much for this particular movie. It's more of a curio.

So i checked the sale titles today, but when i tried to order, the sale site states "This offer is no longer available outside of the UK.".
I could swear this wasn't there a few hours earlier.
