I'm guessing they still have British Artists: Jayne Parker for £1 the same way. Was still on offer for a quid the last time I was there (Covent Garden) & that was a while after I'd originally bought said title. The cheapest I've seen any of these arty/experimental type BFI releases.

I finished my set last year. Joanna was one of the last ones I found. Sometimes the ones that don't sell well end up being really hard to find. Sometimes there's no logic to it at all. Be patient and it'll come up eventually.

That version of Privilege is also tough to find, but I think the three disc edition of Deep End is by far the rarest. That took forever to find.

I gave up looking for the 3-disc Deep End as I never saw it for a sensible price. I went for the reissue of Privilege as I preferred the artwork, and don't mind about the spine thing (I don't own all the Flipside titles anyway).

There have been some affordable listings but I end up missing them, not exactly a lengthy extra to justify paying loads.

Any idea why this one is so rare? Is there hope of finding it anywhere?

[edit] I guess I'm not an experienced collector, might just need to set an eBay alert and wait for it to pop up.
I'll jump in and echo what others have said, I also was on the hunt for this and got lucky on eBay last year, so that's definitely the best route! Paid about £20 for it which isn't too bad. Patience always wins in this game

When it finally showed up, it ended up being a reasonable price (under £20). Go figure.

Big thanks to TheHistorian, who told me of a copy of Joanna that had just popped up on eBay! Somehow eBay itself didn't notify me, maybe I had set my saved search up wrong. I was able to buy it, taxes and shipping make it expensive to buy single items, but it's not too bad if I can wait until a sale with getting the still in print movies.

No, I only have about half of it, but the missing pieces are in print.

I don't think you need to rush to buy them all but since there are a handful of licensed titles you should at least go after those ones. Mr Topaze is with 20th century fox as well and then there are at least five titles from MGM.

I just now checked that at least Rarewaves currently lists all of the ones I'm missing and has them in stock. But if I would try to prioritize those MGM licensed ones out of caution, how would I check which ones are licensed from MGM? Forum/news history search for each title or is there an easier way to do it? I think there is nothing about the licensing on the BFI web shop listings?

BTW On Amazon UK and Rarewaves product images, Mr. Topaze seems not to have the flipside logo on the spine, is that correct?

When I get home I'll let you know which of the titles are licensed so you can decide on what to get.

For Mr Topaze I think it's just the photo they used doesn't have the spine number but as far I know only privilege had a different pressing with no spine number on it.

Also bear in mind that the latter flipside titles starting with Beat Girl have limited pressings for the booklet. I missed on Mr Topaze and anothef 2 titles I believe.

When I asked on Facebook Ben said they'd forgotten to include the spine number on the new artwork re-release of Privilege.

Thanks, much appreciated. I'll prioritise the 6 missing ones of those this year. I think Rarewaves at least had a BFI (Flipside?) sale end of 2023, maybe they'll have one this year as well. And I'll keep an eye on the BFI Facebook group for any GOOP warnings.

"£33.33 VAT refund has been processed"

I didn't even realize a VAT error on my order, so can't complain. Good one, BFI Shop.
