Nope! I wouldn't know how to use one anyway. Does said site ship to the UK?

I haven't used them so can't say and their website doesn't say either. Maybe someone here can help.

Guillermo del Toro's Cronos rated by BBFC for BFI! GDT was working on a new 4K restoration of it, so this will possibly be a 4K release.

Are new announcements expected soon by the way? I noticed their pre-order section is empty right now for some reason, unless it's just like that for me.

Does anyone think there is a chance that the recently restored "Silent Sherlock" adventures (45 episodes and 2 feature films) will get released on Blu ray?

Yes, quite a strong one, I’d guess.

What a nice surprise! Figured this would just be thrown on the Criterion heap, so I’m glad it has gone to a good home. Do StudioCanal have The Devil’s Backbone and Pan’s Labyrinth still I wonder?

Excuse my ignorance but I received Roque Male today without a booklet. Every release I own from the BFI has a booklet. Are the booklets limited now?

Yes, they have been limited for a few years now - strangely enough Rogue Male was one of the first titles missing a booklet that i remember buying (about 6-9 months after the release date)

Aha, thank you. I always love their booklets. Good to remember to order sooner.

Ben on Twitter mentioned the following earlier today & I've highlighted the important bits in red:

All We Imagine as Light is an Indian film which won the Grand Prix at Cannes. It's out in cinemas on 29 November, Blu-ray and BFI Player 17 March.

Architecton is out in cinemas on 10 January. The BFI Player date is 25 March but no Blu-ray mentioned yet.. I don't know much about this, except that it's a documentary, "an epic, intimate, and poetic meditation on architecture and how the design and construction of buildings from the ancient past reveal our destruction — and offer hope for survival and a way forward."

To answer my own question, in case anyone is interested:

I received my copy today from Amazon UK, and it still came with the booklet.

I usually don't bother much about missing out on booklets, since to be honest most times I don't ever read them, but in this case I'm happy it came with the booklet, not only because I have volumes 1 and 2 with the booklets (and it's always nice to have some "parity" with the rest of the series ), but also due to the "obscure" nature of many of these shorts, where not much info is around, the context and information of the booklets is most useful.

I've bought a lot of older BFI Flipside releases recently and if I'm not mistaken, they've all come with a booklet. I wonder if that's a guarantee for Flipside?

[edit]It's not a guarantee. I found that my Short Sharp Shocks Vol. 1 is lacking a booklet. I assume it's then that the Flipsides are less likely to sell out in numbers surpassing the booklets printed, because most of them still seem to have it.

BFI only in recent years started making booklets limited. In theory any release from before that date - which probably covers 90% of Flipside releases - should always come with a booklet. (The clue would be in the back cover info, as in, if it mentions the booklet).

Because the BFI already issued Emir Kusturica's Underground on Blu-ray, it would be nice if it did the same with Black Cat, White Cat by the same director.

They are currently updating their store. That's why some OOP titles, such as FUNERAL PARADE OF ROSES*, appear to be in stock when they aren't.

*I learned the hard way.

Just caught this at this year's London Film Festival- it was superb, and I'll definitely be wanting to watch it again.
