Insanely good prize on that! Think I got it in BFI Shop's 3 for Ł25 offer, so a similar price.

Posted in another thread that I got Ghost Stories for Christmas Vol. 2 for Ł9.99 the other day, and got the Michael Powell: Early Works set online for Ł14.99 (same price in-store). Strange that some titles are cheaper in-store and others aren't...

It's been a week since the BFI sent that email saying their shop has been hacked and the site is still offline. I want to login to change my password.

The BFI shop better not come back online without a huge Flipside sale.

Ben Stoddard said this in the BFI Group with relation to the Romulus titles they hold:

Quote:
All the Romulus titles we've done will be deleted and various already have been. Next up to join the deleted list will be Good Die Young, The Guinea Pig and Beat The Devil.

Two of those I have, does anyone recommend The Guinea Pig?

No doubt StudioCanal will bring them back into print though, as they now control the Romulus library, and with some improvements to a couple of them IIRC (need to find out which though so I can consider double-dipping).

Do BFI’s blu-rays normally come in the plastic like everything else - you know where it has corners almost, where its been folded - or more like clingfilm that’s somehow been sealed?

I suspect my entire HMV order might be reseals, they came like the latter

Pretty sure they use both.

Quickly looking through my BFIs which are still sealed, and from numerous retailers, there's far more with your first example, but more than enough with the latter sealing to suggest (to me) that they're not all re-seals.

I emailed BFI if the recent hack will affect any preorders made on the site and it will not, they will be fullfilled normally.

Wondering why Chantal Akerman blu ray sets are only available though 3rd party sellers in amazon. Could anyone please clarify whether this is just some temporary shortage or the BFI is sold out or something? With the BFI shop not working can't really tell.

Would much prefer the BFI to the Criterion and wanted to buy earlier, but if that's sold out I might go for the Criterion after all. Probably should've got it earlier, as News from home is such a favourite (and a very haunting film)...

If you're in the UK I would buy from Browns Books, that's where I got mine, a lot cheaper then Amazon even if you don't qualify for free shipping.

Unless I've got the wrong website, isn't this the one that says "Special order line: only available to educational & business accounts" on a lot of products?

That's only when it goes out of stock, the item in question has 17 in stock.
