Who's likely to get Hammer House of Horror, now that Network are no more

It's easy to deceive
It's easy to tease
But hard to get release.

That’s a cracking line-up, I already have the Akerman box and will stick with 4K for upgrading the Kurosawa but nothing that I will miss out on. It’s always good to see the Blu-less British cinema of the eighties to noughties get picked up and these three are no exception.

[Show spoiler]The House of Mirth
should be a revelation in high definition. The Film4 DVD just isn't good. It looked blurry even on my older, smaller TV.

Wow. I will get the Terence Davies film House of Mirth and of course the Short Sharp Shocks as I’m collecting all Flipside releases.

Will probably skip the Eyes Without a Face upgrade as it seems to drop a short and add a commentary.

But I might also eventually decide to go for the Kurosawa and get all his movies on Blu-Ray then instead of 4K, if the price is right.

I literally just bought the "Eyes Without a Face" Blu-Ray...

"Jeanne Dielman" in that 2-disc format will be perhaps my triple-dip just like "Fanny and Alexander" (got the Criterion and BFI Akerman/Bergman boxset).

Only Eyes Without a Face upgrade for me. Hopefully Priest means they might give us Bird's Face at some point but don't know it possible as it's with the BBC I assume.

is the Akira Kurosawa Samurai Collection just a repackaging of the older collection, or are their new extras etc?

Looks like it's just a box set of the new remastered editions without a booklet.

I might get Eyes although I have the Umbrella 4K. I already have Jeanne Dielman from the box set and the Kurosawa films as 4Ks. Not interested in the rest but I’m glad to see others are enthusiastic.

My only disappointment is that no new Children’s Film Foundation discs are in the (leaked) announcement. It’s been a long time since the last Bumper Box.

Looks like no booklets for standalone releases of films previously part of BFI box sets is becoming a thing. Pity…

Regarding SSS Vol 4, does anyone know what Scarecrow and Sanctum are about? Scant information online about either.

Scarecrow: “Set in Southern Ireland in 1931 at the height of a drought, it tells of the desperate efforts of a poor farmer to save his crops from the ravagings of a plague of rooks. Overpowered by the heat and driven to a hallucinatory state of madness, his efforts end in tragedy.”

Sanctum: “Study of the fantasies of a disturbed young man who appears to be sexually stimulated by the rituals and symbols of Catholicism.”
