Ice Age and Ice Age 2: The Meltdown still need 1.85:1 next to them.

Jewel: The Essential Live Songbook is also 1.78:1

The Avatar 3D promotional disk from Panasonic is in 1.78:1

Those are the only ones I've got that aren't on your list yet.

Alright...gotta thank all of you guys for your contributions this time around. It does seem that most of the CGI movies are between 1.78-1.85:1 huh... I'll add 'em.
I also appreciate the additional details given to existing movies. Don't worry, I'll update them ASAP but I'm only notified once (email) and/or when I remember to check. So, I plead, please be patient with me sometimes in terms of keeping it up to date. Like I said before, information on this thread/list comes in waves it seems, so I might lapse sometimes because it may have been a while since a last posting.

Thanks for your contribution Kakolookiyam. Here's the thing... The only real difference between my list and those lists out there that can make use of a "search engine" and "filters" is that the contributions in my list are those that are physically seen and confirmed as being 1.78-1.85:1. I find (and it shows on the list) that although a movie may have one OAR, it displays on a TV in a different aspect ratio. Most search engines and other lists neglect that and/or get it mistaken.
Where I'm going with this is that for Avengers (at least the live-action movie that came out this summer) may be slated for a 1.78-1.85:1 displayed aspect ratio, but until it's confirmed with physical eyes, it can't be posted up on the list. Unfortunately, it's only when it's officially released that one can know for sure what it displays at.
But I/we do appreciate your initiative and enthusiasm and will welcome to keep it coming!

Thank you all again in keeping the list up to date (relatively) and confirmed!

I found this thread searching for a list just like this, so I joined the forum to add some I've verified. I'm breaking in a new plasma and I needed movies without black bars. There aren't on the list yet:

40 Days And 40 Nights
Before the Devil Knows You're Dead
Cop Land
Cyrus
Easy A
Felon
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
The Lookout
Serendipity
Sideways
World's Greatest Dad
The Yards/The Lookout (Miramax Double Feature)

The Lookout is on the list twice because I have it on two discs. Both were verified.

Hey everyone! I want to apologize for the very late acknowledgement and update. It has been a VERY busy last couple of months. But, then again, posts on here are so sporadic that it's really hard to keep up and/or discern whether or not I should make an acknowledgement post or not (don't know when it will rise up or die down). But, I apologize nonetheless.

Now, on to my thanks...
MalkovichMalkovich, HD Goofnut, and DarkXPower, you guys are always appreciated as you guys give constant contributions. You guys keep this list going and, although simple, my/our thanks are given.
boredtoday, you have been giving really good, bulk, extended contributions, and I/we REALLY appreciate it. Thanks for all the hard work! it seems you do it because you may just be "boredtoday," but thanks for filling in that "boredness" with contributing to the list. A special acknowledgement goes to you on how you confirmed Scorpion Soldier's submission of Avengers! I really appreciate that! I hate to sound like a broken record, but please remember that the list is comprised of movies actually physically seen as fullscreen; if it weren't like this, then this list would be no different from any other search engine with parameters (and this list would probably be less accurate as well in that respect)
I wanted to thank TheMan individually because, AFAIK, this is his first contribution and this thread/list always welcomes it's contributions from everybody, both regulars and newcomers.

Thank you Spider! Posts like these are always welcome! Keeping the list accurate is the highest priority...

Thanks Scorpion Solider. Most likely Avengers will be on the list, but remember (sorry again from broken record), the list comprises of movies that are physically seen as fullscreen, for it wouldn't be any different than search engines from out there. But still, it's appreciated that you bring it to the thread's attention and your initiative.

Again, I apologize for taking so long to respond to everyone's post and updating the list. Being a lot more busy nowadays, I really appreciate the patience and tolerance of this shortcoming but intend to keep this list updated (if not as immediately up-to-date) as much as possible.

Are you talking about "Gladiator" from (2000)? With Russel Crowe?
Because that is NOT 1.77:1... it is for a FACT 2.35:1.

here's a fairly new one: Moonrise Kingdom.

@simplepinoy: walang problema pare! no problem all of those that i post here, i have seen them and can confirm personally that they are in fact in 16:9 aspect ratio. that's because i make it a point to watch movies only in this AR to break in my plasma tv when i first got it. it's been almost a year now but i still find myself being biased in favor of 16:9 movies when i choose movies that i wanna see.

@ajube: ooooppss... i'll check again when i get home (in about a week) then i'll confirm it here as soon as i see it. (maybe what i have is a different release?)

Last edited by boredtoday; 09-27-2012 at 04:17 AM. Reason: added Moonrise Kingdom
