I think you're all forgetting that S1 had a second bonus disc available exclusively on the HBO UK Online Store.

If that's true then if I were you I'd wait for the inevitable complete set when the show ends. No doubt it will include 'never before seen footage' and extras that you won't have had in the individual releases, including the stuff from amazon/HBO. I'm getting everything standard for now but I'll probably end up rebuying the whole set in the end. Ah, the joys of TV!

I used free super saver delivery on my Amazon order, it shipped Saturday & turned up on Monday. Stuff never usually turns up that quick from Amazon.

I ordered it from Amazon in late December, still in a digipack. It's not had an amaray release yet as far as I've seen.

I think it's still a Digipak but it might be the re-issue and not the original release which had the original heads on pikes. That was replaced pretty quickly if I recall.

The only Digipack which was ever released prior to the S1-3 boxset was in the S1 LE with the egg.

Did anyone else buy the S1-3 boxset? Finally started to watch S1 yesterday, great start. Just put in disc 2 and still hasn't loaded up after 5 minutes? I just searched on google and this seems to be a common problem. Shall I just leave it and see how long it takes to load or is there anything I can do manually eg with my remote

This might have been asked before but couldn't find anything.
Why aren't seasons 2 and 3 the same length in US and EU?
Season 1 US 561 vs EU 561, so the same.
Season 2 US 560 vs EU 542, 18min difference.
Season 3 US 560 vs EU 557, 3min difference.

What am I missing?

This is the problem i had. I left one disc in for 40 minutes and it still hadn't loaded!! It made me give up on this show and i never watched past season one.

It is a bit fussy about loading this one. Put another disc in from the set then put your disc back in - should be OK then.

Yh in the end I put disc 1 in and skipped through it until I got to the "please insert disc 2" bit. Ejected disc and put in disc 2 and played perfect. I watched all 3 episodes and got to insert disc 3. Disc 3 inserted but I turned of and didn't have enough time to watch any more. If I get same problem I know to put back in disc 1 and then select specific episode

My lovely wife got me season 3 yesterday as a gift, bless her, she does not even like the show.

Will have to get all of it viewed before season 4 starts.

Nothing really. They should be the same discs down to the subtitles. Someone has just put the timing incorrectly into the system. If you check the back of the packaging:

US Season 2 says 545 mins (3 mins longer)
US Season 3 says 555 mins (2 mins shorter)

I think this is similar to the Alien Anthology set in the sometimes not reading discs or taking a while to recognise them?

I think it's something to do with BDLive/online data connection. It's a well known problem with the series 1-2 (S3 has been fine so far though for me). It's best to disable any kind of internet and java/BDLive on your player and also clear the persistent storage each time you load a new disc. I find that usually works.

I watched all ten episodes over three nights, brilliant stuff. The only problem I have is having to wait another year for the next episode as I don't have sky

I feel your pain.... Was genuinely depressed when it had finished! Didn't manage to get through the whole year 'spoiler free', so may get the Sky Go monthly ticket thing. Then again, Game of Thrones with adverts?! Don't think I'd like that!

+1. Watching on Sky would drive me mad even though I would be seeing it quicker. Not to mention the waiting a week for the next episode - I usually watch 2 or 3 (or 4 or 5 ) in one go.

Plus all the advantages of blu-ray of course - pristine PQ and AQ, no adverts, tons of extras etc..
