Patsfan, since you used MPC is it possible to grab 2 screenshots of the same shot, one with the crush and one without the crush?
Or MPC grabs only screenshots of the source and not with any filters applied on it?

Unfortunately I don't. That it had not been available to buy from amazon for a long time I grabbed it with the chance that they had corrected the disc and just restocked.

Lets face it if Sony were ever going to fix the crushed titles, they would have done it by now.

I tried taking screenshots but they all look identical regardless of the renderer settings. I surmise it is because the conversion is happening in the renderer to the monitor output after decoding rather than during the decoding. Its the same deal with the shaders.

And you can't even fix it by raising the brightness, I tried, the detail simply isn't there in the black areas, no matter how bright you make the image.
I'm about to pull the trigger on 'The Interview'... is the UK release on a website like Amazon.co.uk a 'sure bet' in getting the 'corrected' version???

Thanks James!

Yep, the UK release came out 4 months after the US edition.

All UK editions of THE INTERVIEW are corrected, steelbook and normal case.

Sony never acknowledged all my pleading, but they silently corrected some of the titles for overseas editions.

I bought the UK steelbook, because it was on sale and significantly cheaper than the normal UK edition at the time they both came out.

Thank you James... so I'm safe getting ANY U.K. edition? Thanks again!
