I sort of agree. Reminds me of Force Awakens being a somewhat reboot/remake of New Hope.

Huge Tom Cruise fan here. Haven’t seen the original in at least 25 years.

This looks awesome. Still feel bad they didn’t get the original leading lady something in this. Aging is a bi-/-.

Yeah, but damn if Jennifer Connelly hasn't got sexier with age

I wouldn't mind getting lost in a labyrinth with her!

Jet stuff looks really cool. Rest is just what I expect with the memberberries. Never been a huge fan of the original but might check this out. Mostly to see if Val Kilmer still looks like he ate himself.

Yes, I love her. But Tarantino films haven’t exactly launched our former favorites like we thought they would. Hopefully this gets Jen back. Meryl is the only one where age doesn’t seem to matter.

No matter what she looks like now, they should have come up with something for Kelly McGillis in this.

So what's the plot? Tom Cruise smiling and, flying around in fighter jets.....wait that's not a criticism.

Very cool, though similar to the first trailer.

Hell yeah Top Gun probably isn't even in my top 10 TC films, but this is my most anticipated movie of next year for sure.

Given the mustache I have to assume Miles Teller is playing Goose's son.

second trailer (and wow is this movie looking awesome) and no Val Kilmer in the trailer or is he in a blink and you'll miss him moment? I'm surprised they wouldn't tray to get a brief shot of him in the second trailer.

I'm betting Kilmer's part is more cameo than anything else.

From what I understand, due to his cancer/treatments, he can't barely speak above a whisper.

Maybe Iceman will be someone Maverick goes to for advice, much like Mav talks with Viper in the original.

I am completely fine with that.

A film of this scale, with all the practical stuff they are doing, should be kept under wraps as much as possible until its release.

Wow. Gotta say I love both trailers. Very excited for this. The trailers show just the right amount of nostalgia, mixed with new action and story and slick direction. It has me very intrigued. I'll be in the theater opening night, for sure.
