I actually teared up. No spoilers but you will know the scene when you see it.

There is something about practical effects that you can just tell it's real. I knew nothing about the making of the movie but when I was watching the movie I was thinking this had be real and lo and behold. Obviously, there has to be some CG but like The Batman, Nolan movies, and Mad Max: Fury Road, you want CG to enhance the practical effects not replace the practical effects.

Or go back to Twitter more like it, where that toilet fodder belongs. Did he cover that bullshit up to not spoil the movie, or to hide his assh0le virtue signaling? Hating on people for their age and skin color is cringe, not cool, not edgy, just cringe.

Lol well all of that aside I couldn’t help but notice how much older Tom looked in the introduction message then he did in the actual movie. They definitely touched him up quite a bit in post.

Depending on your health regimen 5 years may or may not show. It’s also pretty evident he’s had jaw fillers or something done along those lines. It was first evident to me when I saw his Mummy film.

Totally agree. I thought the effects in the climax of Black Panther were poor but I didn't care because I was engrossed in the story. I don't want to start a debate about the quality of BP, that's just my opinion. Just an example of not caring about dodgy CG.

With that said, the better the effects and practical effects the less chance of you getting pulled out of the movie and being sold on the illusion.

I picked up the cd about a week ago, and I still cannot stop listening to #9, it's the score music from when they come back to carrier. So good.

Instead he is mad that Maverick pulled his application to the Navy for 4 years? It's so random. Why not just have Rooster blame him for his father dying? It feels like such a random plot point to add in the movie that never really gets resolved between the two men.
I forgot but was Maverick to blame for Goose's death ? Maybe the writers felt that 36 years is a long ass time for someone to be blaming someone else for something that happened at a time when said person was too young to grasp that to begin with. And Goose's wife forgave Maverick or never even blamed him to begin with so why would Rooster ?

Legit looking like $500 million is possible. A $50 million third weekend with only a 44% drop going up against a Jurassic film is exceptional. Truly.

Not only about to surpass Doctor Strange domestically, but may end up around $100M ahead of it! Who could've seen that coming?

Ukraine Top Gun: Maverick

$300 million to go (worldwide)
https://collider.com/top-gun-maveric...al-box-office/

Just killed 'The Batman'

* T-Rex is doing good, no matter how bad is the movie.
I guess people were fed-up with the virus, and they needed a shot of adrenaline @ the movies, no matter what, no matter where the roar came from. That's that, the cash register in Hollywood.
And speaking of Rex:
(((3D))) https://www.cinemablend.com/3d/to-3d...ominion-ticket

** Domestically, 'Top Gun: Maverick' is certainly positioned for $half billion, if not $600,000
We'll see, and Avatar #2 with snow ...

I truly don't understand HOW these Jurassic movies continuously do so well. They have sucked on 7 continents for decades now.

I saw the original with my father when it was released here in Australia in 1986. So we went together again to watch Maverick (my dad is a returned veteran and gets many benifits like free medical, medications, public transport etc., but also gets into any movie - standard, IMAX etc for $1 - so he got me in for the same price). This movie was enjoyed immensely by the both of us and we both would've paid full price - $24 each !!! - to see it.

This latest Jurassic (pile of poo) is special because they got the old gang back together. Now, parents are going to see the film with their (grown) children and grandchildren. NBC Universal had a whole prime time show about the movie coming out on their network. Just like ABC/Disney would do for a big movie coming out from their studio.

That's my explanation of why the latest Jurassic movie is getting traction.

All you have to do is look at the weekly TV Nielsen ratings. That'll give you a pretty good idea of what the majority of people like.
