A Marvel movie won't even come close to being the top. Not even a possibility. This is the best movie performance since the 90's, I think. No MCU movie can claim that, I think. Especially, a summer one.

It doesn't matter which movies, specifically, are the ones doing well at the box-office. We should all hope that all kinds of movies from all genres would be doing well, and that this will in turn make the studios more confident that there's going to be an audience there for a wide variety of product.

More importantly, the theatrical exhibition business needs to remain viable. Otherwise, it's all going to be streaming in the future.

People are making too big a deal about that. He's not a fan of Cruise... that's basically the jist of it. He said Cruise was irrelevant in "his world", not in general.

I caught this in theaters a second time when they brought it back to IMAX again for a week. That is absolutely the way to see it.

I loved it even more the second time. Great film!

And with those numbers, you already just know there will be a Top Gun 3. There is no way Paramount will sleep on it now.

What about being optimistic and hoping that Paramount will instead see why Top Gun Maverick was a success and apply that lesson to their other films?

Sonic 2 had a fair bit of what TGM did right, after all.

Come on, man... You really think Mickey Rourke is jealous? Yeah Cruise is sitting on 600 million networth and is still the biggest star, but as Mickey said he doesn't care about any of that, the fame and the spotlight, and he's not exactly hurting for money either. 10 million is certainly not cracker crumbs to 99% of us, so I'd say for an almost 70 year old individual who has hit rough waves most of his life, he's not gonna be sweating what Tom Cruise does, says, or makes. At a certain point it's just a number in the grand scheme.

He was asked what he thought of Tom and he answered, not maliciously, that he's not a fan of his work and that Tom has no relevance in his life. He wasn't saying that Tom was irrelevant PERIOD, obviously that's not the case. Much like Cardi B has no relevance in my life, she's not in my algorithm, radio, tv, stereo, etc... but that's not me saying that she's irrelevant. I just don't like her music. Know what I mean?
