Hitting the water is like hitting concrete if not diving feet first or hands first to cut into the water instead of slamming into it. Just remember how it hurts to jump off a diving board and hitting the water flat. It's like a solid object for a split second.

But he was planning to make a sequel to Top Gun, but lost track of his life. To find positive hope in something every day is the key to eventually overcoming depression I believe. Hope being the opposite of grief and self pity. They did suggest he was taking medication that prompted him to do it, so I'm not certain why he did that in the first place.
I read that he had been diagnosed with cancer, and that’s what caused him to take his own life, sadly.

Prior to that I wonder if they’ll have scenes with him speaking. That throat cancer really stole his voice and replaced it with something quite unusual if you’ve seen the cast reunion on the Heat disc...

Crimson Tide, Man on Fire, Enemy of the State, Déjà Vu, Beverly Hills Cop II along with Top Gun are some of Tony Scott’s best works.

That said, several people have now told me to check out Only The Brave and reviews seem to suggest Kosinski can handle drama just fine... which is reassuring.
Let's just say if Scott made a solid base hit with Top Gun's characterization and drama, then Kosinski knocked it out of the ballpark and hit a Mercedes on a freeway with Only the Brave.

Same thing happened with his comments on Dunkirk in the relevant topic (he worked the sound department on that one), they upped and disappeared so now it looks like I'm talking to thin air in several parts of that thread.

Nice to see you back anyway Huck, if only briefly. Shame you can't post without rescinding the messages later on - I'm thinking because your bosses don't like such close contact with the great unwashed? - but as you're an actual industry professional then I'm guessing you're not exactly crying your eyes out over having to delete some posts on a message board.

I'll admit that the trailer looks great. I also wasn't too keen on the director, but if the trailer is any indication, sign me up.

I wonder if "Days of Thunder" is considered for a reboot if this pulls in huge numbers.

Hey, Geoff!

Sigh… received a few too many “You’re so full of crap!” face-punch messages in one day—so I just gave up.

But, what the heck, let’s try one more time and see how it goes.

Funny to see the Tarantino/Top Gun thing as I boomed that movie (Sleep with Me), as well. As I recall, it’s a pretty terrible picture. Holy cow, I’m really getting old!

Guess I won't be watching this film due to Paramount's lack of a backbone.
