Default Ghost and the Darkness

This really needs to get the Blu treatment. I loved this movie!!! The scenery would be pure eye candy and the lion's roars would give me chills! I'm dying for this one!!!

I've never understood why the critics hated this film so much. I thought it was excellent. This movie will be even better on when it eventually comes to Blu-ray. Like the OP said, the scenery will be gorgeous and the sound should be killer.

Only 52% on RottenTomatoes. 22% with top critics.

Thumbs up Prey For The Hunters

Couldn't Agree More!

I Love this movie. The Lions are awesome characters themselves. Val Kilmer in The Saint was great. I even enjoy Val Kilmer's movies more than Tom Cruise.

Other Val Kilmer sleepers (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Spartan, & Real Genius)

Wonderland is available OCT 5, 2010

Default Ghost and the Darkness A MUST!!!

This is a great movie that came out in 1996 that should definitely get the upgrade to Blu ray. The fact alone that it is not available in region 1 anamorphic widescreen is reason enough to release it on BD. Anyone who has never seen this has really missed out. Its along the same lines as Jaws, and The Edge with Hopkins and Baldwin. I would recommend anyone who hasnt seen it to go out and rent it, but its only available on a letterbox format, that looks terrible on a high def widescreen tv. Its based on a true story and instead of a shark in Jaws, and a Kodiak bear in The Edge, this one has two lions that are the menacing animals in this thriller. Anyways, I hope the big wigs over at Paramount Studios decide to release this disc on blu ray in the near future so that it can be viewed as it was meant to be viewed; in HIGH DEFINITION BLU RAY DISC!!!

Where is this sucker?

I love these epic 90's films! We've already got Braveheart, Legends of the Fall, The Last of the Mohicans, Dances with Wolves, and The Edge, now I just need The Ghost and the Darkness.

Absolutely chilling film. An hd conversion would bring out the African landscape brilliantly and hd sound job on the lion's roar would send shivers down anyone listening

Definately in my top 10 films that need a Blu Ray release

Thumbs up yep

Im from Sweden and this movie is top 5 for me to be released on bluray.

Its so many crap movies that gets bluray releases, but this one i havent heard anything about.

It sure is in the same league if not even higher up then A hopkins, A Baldwin`s The edge.

Personally i feel it is just as good as Jaws. Incredible movie, the actors performances top notch and so forth, could die happy if this gets released

I'm dying to see the Blu Ray. The Laser Disc was terrific, the DVD, even better. It's ideally suited for the Blu Ray treatment. One of the best '90s film that sadly went unnoticed mostly.

Any word yet? Always loved this movie and not only hope it comes to blu but that it also gets a worthy transfer. I put this movie right up there with The Edge if not better.

The worse sign is that netflix have this now but the HD is the same upscale. No new master available it seems.

Upscale is sd converted to HD. Like watching dvd on your hdtv. Real HD have native 1080p resolution.

This is a real bummer. I, too, was excited to see it pop upon streaming platforms as that often heralds a forthcoming BD, but it is definitely the same transfer as the DVD. At least to my eye. Killer film. Deserves better.
