I have to say it's another project I'm very excited about. Also, I thought "Tangled" was great, while I thought "Frozen" was overrated at least. So I'm glad the Rapunzel-director is back with another fairytale. Great artwork!

The only thing I'm not happy about ... The songwriters from "Frozen".

Meg Lefauve is now the co-director of 'Gigantic'. She's one of the writers of both 'Inside Out' and 'The Good Dinosaur', also working on the script the upcoming 'Captain Marvel' movie. Apparently her writing for 'Gigantic' was such an important part for the story, Meg got promoted. Co-director Nathan Greno (Tangled) is staying.

This just got bumped from 2018 to November 25, 2020. Yikes, is this ever coming out? This is almost as bad as Avatar!

For animation they delayed Wreck it Ralph from March to November 2018, set Frozen 2 for November 2019 and delayed Coco two years to 2020.

Gigantic moved to 2020, not Coco

I always wondered why they never had a Jack and the Beanstalk movie in the canon...

It would be way better if they stuck to that hand painted style, or in the very least something like The Wind Waker's cel shading. As much as the Pixar guys say they love hand drawn animation and are sad that they're the main reason it disappeared, I haven't seen any attempts to bring it back now that they're in charge...

I'm really disappointed to see this get pushed back so much. I was disappointed when it moved from March to November 2018, never mind another two years. Hopefully it's for the best though and the final product will be all the better for it.

Ugh. This was one of my most anticipated.

I don't need Frozen 2.

Clearly means there are production problems with this. Hopefully it works out for the best instead of what happened with The Good Dinosaur. Definitely sucks as I would much more look forward to this than any of their upcoming sequels.

Yup, by Bobby Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the duo behind the songs in Frozen and Winnie the Pooh.

This news really bums me out as I'm insanely excited for this film. Everything about it just sounds so perfect to me: a Disney fairy tale co-directed by one of the co-directors of Tangled with songs by the team behind Frozen and Winnie the Pooh and set in Spain. The latter especially has my interest piqued as I'm part Spanish, and this will be the first Walt Disney Animation Studios film to have an Hispanic lead.

I hope the delay means they're really taking their time to make sure the story is as great as it could possibly be. Frozen was rushed out in 2 years to capitalize off of Tangled's success, and while I love it, the story needed a lot of work. I just hope the Lopezes working on Frozen 2 isn't going to harm Gigantic's quality in any way, especially since they're also working on the Broadway adaptation of the first one.

Really?
I thought it was stuck and delayed for ages (As Snow Queen) then finally was completed and released

You are absolutely right Yeslek. 'Frozen' is the final result of what was initially called 'The Snow Queen', a project that has been re-announced in 2009 and was in development hell since 2002, when it got shelved because of the box office results their movies were making at the time. They actually started working again on that in 2008. Nothing was rushed when it comes to 'Frozen', since lots of the elements were already defined around 2010.

Same for 'Tangled', which had already animation shown back in 2005, when it was going to look more like a painting coming to life. That changed, but the 'Rapunzel Unbraided' we saw there, was not different than the Rapunzel we saw in the final movie.
