4K Movies Releases

According to this, the DV version is 4K.

The DCP (digital cinema package, the file that’s delivered to the theater) was 4K, whereas I learned that the Dolby Vision DCPs for The Scorch Trials and Everest were both 2K, which I didn’t know when I saw them in the same theater.

Personally I wouldn't go on what's delivered to cinemas, obviously what they get give will be what works best across all their screens.

Should stick to VHS then if we don't want things more realistic.


Black should be black. Sunlight should be bright without washing out everything. HDR is how to do that.

If you ever want to know if a film is 2k or 4k, just go to the imdb of the film and click technical specs. I've never seen it listed wrong.

imdb has a history of being reliable but far from infallible,
