yeah its hard to believe that this was a virus originating in a country where live exotic animals living in their own filth and in cramped are sold directly to customers as food

Yes it is. Millions will die when all is said and done.

What I find ironic is that the safest people in China are probably the thousands of Muslims that they locked up in maximum security re-education camps

Out of all the illnesses in the news over the last 2 decades, this one has me actually concerned.

Me too. It's not fully understood, and there's serious under-reporting happening. It just takes a couple instances of the virus in the wild for it to spread uncontrolled in a major city, and I fear that's going to happen. It looks like that might be happening in Singapore right now. Containment is obviously key, but I see no signs of it slowing down, which you would expect if China was containing it properly. And not many countries have the resources and infrastructure to even deal with this pandemic like China has.

Theyre sending to the United States 46 untested Americans who were on board a cruise ship with hundreds of infected people. granted they will be quarantined for 14 days once theyre here but still.. how many Americans are going to obey government orders to stay put?

I haven't watched the news in some time and with your two comments, maybe I should.
Scary stuff.

I know someone pointed it out earlier but the numbers are probably a lot higher. China is the lyinest bunch of liars that ever lied. everything about that country is fake. they tried to silence the initial whistleblower (who later died of the very disease he tried to warn us about.)

the problem is the fact that the symptoms are all very similar to that of the flu. I think the only way youd know is if you got tested for it

The World Health Organization (WHO) has given the disease caused this this virus a new name COVID-19
However the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) is calling the virus itself SARS-CoV-2

So SARS-CoV-2 is the new name of this virus.

After about a week of taking Advil cold pills, I’m feeling better. I have one more day worth of pills the box, so I’ll finish them up tomorrow.

Whatever name sticks with people will be the de facto name of the disease. I can't see the latter catching on because when a layperson hears "SARS-CoV-2" they might think youre talking about the 2003 outbreak. When someone says "CoVid-19" they know exactly what disease you are referring to

edit: I should also add that from a health/humanitarian perspective, do you want the name decided by people charged with keeping humans healthy, or a group of scientists charged with simply describing the virus? it can be argued that the latter is more authoritative on naming viruses but when there is a potential global pandemic at hand, minimizing confusion as much as humanly possible was probably the aim of the WHO when deciding upon the name

Been wanting to order some movies from Amazon.it and a few Korean retailers but those are a couple corona hot spots so been holding out. Now I’m hearing they are bringing a shit load of infected to be quarantined here in my home state. WTF is that about? Anyway, hope they get this under control but I got a bad feeling on this one.

Yeah, I've read that one hot shot is not very happy with that. Hope for the best ...
Meanwhile I recommend watching Parasite.

Also, on Netflix ... if you subscribe ...
