I just ordered this from Best Buy for $14.99. I always loved this movie and reading the reviews on this release, I'm looking forward to seeing it in UHD!

It is very jaw dropping release... I have not seen the movie in a long time and was amazed at everything with all the grain .

What's the word on this one? Blu-ray.com product page lists as "Native 4K" but this one isn't included in the "List of UHDs that utilize 4K or Higher Masters" thread.

Blu-ray package says "all-new 4K restoration."

This site doesn't provide 4K screenshots along with their review.

My random guess would be 2K effects output to film and then the film was scanned for the "4K restoration" - but that's just my guess Can anyone provide details?

I'm sure this is already discussed in the thread but I don't want to read all 44 pages

Key info like this needs to be included in the thread OP or in the review!

Late to the party here but holy s*** this looked f***ing amazeballs!

Only just made the jump to 4K and have been dipping into some more recent movies in the last week like Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and the Apes movies. This is the first 'grainy' movie i've thrown at my new set-up. My expectations were high but I was still floored. Like I died and went to film heaven.

Next up, Leon: The Professional. Nolan will have to wait his turn!

You've already watched some of the best stuff, and you're in for a treat with Leon. Need to watch Dunkirk today, myself.

Being a man of mighty intelligence, I meticulously planned. I may have only just upgraded my set-up this last week but i've been buying up UHD discs for the last eight months in anticipation .

"But you don't even have a 4K TV!" people would say. They'd laugh at me and throw rocks at me in the street. But now 'tis I who has the last laugh for I have a giant stack of 4K blu-rays of my shelf just ripe for the pickin'.

Lol I wish I did that. I stupidly was still buying new releases on BD. Luckily I got some great deals on BF and picked up the UHD’s.

Because some scenes look great, but where grain is present (faces) I see “sparkles” and “moving ants.” Just like to see if I’m doing something wrong if someone with an OLED says it looks great.

The grain is what helps give the image detail and depth, scrub that away and you get a flat, boring image. The grain structure is what makes the picture so magnificent imo. The last 4K movie to blow me away like this was Men in Black 3, also because of how superb the grain is in giving the image a crazy amount of detail and depth. To each their own though I guess.

I don’t mind grain, but I am willing to bet mine isn’t how grain is supposed to look (moving around and sparkling). This and Crouching Tiger are two of the worst on my set from my collection in terms of the “moving ants.”

I have a few movies where the grain doesn’t bother me at all, and I agree, I like the film look.

Huh, that's weird. I'm not familiar with LG so not sure what to tell you but you definitely shouldn't get any "sparkling."
