Feel the same! It has more of a 1984 vibe to me, the symbolism strikes me more as communist rather than fascist! But - as always - YMMV!

Absolutely agree!
Either way, regarding the propaganda cover of Starship Troopers I found it to be more based on symbolism used during the Stalin era of the soviet union rather than symbols used in Nazi Germany, which to a larger extent represents the political system in Starship Troopers. With all that said, it's only a gut feeling on my end, not a well-founded analysis.

It's the font and solid red which gives it that feel. All it's missing is a five-point star with hammer and sickle.

A few months ago I bought a used copy of the new steelbook with Dolby Vision from Bullmoose and it sat unopened on my shelf. I finally went to watch it recently and realized that they mistakenly sent me the old steel from 2017. I was pretty disappointed since it seemed like the new transfer was somewhat hard to find for a good price but I noticed someone had a single copy left on Amazon for MSRP so I bought it half expecting it to be the 2017 steel again, but it arrived today and I was happy to see it's the new edition. And even though the listing said it was used, it was brand new. So here's a free digital copy for whoever gets it first:

Does the new release have any upgrades beyond DV? I have a Samsung TV so that won't help me, but I'd upgrade if anything else was improved beyond the prior 4k release.

The steelbook with the new master is a bit pricey for me right now and I'm not sure if I should pass it and wait for the standard version. But I'm kinda afraid Sony will just keep not releasing the standard edition, like they did with most of the titles in the Columbia Classics 4K Collections.

Bit of a late response but yes, the new disc has a better encode with a higher bitrate. Even if you don't have DV, you should still see improvements in the grain, particularly in indoor scenes.
It also has a less cumbersome menu and of course the 25th anniversary zoom reunion, for what that's worth.

The 2017 release: yes. The 2022 25th Anniversary Edition: no, sadly.

Yes, I know. It's not like an audio commentary track takes up that much memory/space. But, I guess people will have to go back to the old ways for the new disc. I.E. start the film and CD (or this case a Blu-ray) on another player.

Lot of commentaries are on YouTube under clever titles. I had a lot of rare tracks downloaded to an MP3 player before it fried my SD card.

Did you save the clever titles and can you PM them?

I'd also like to know about these clever titles if you don't mind.

There's a whole web site that has commentaries. I don't know the name of it, but just google it, that's how I found it.
