Yes, they are different types of illnesses because the transmission & symptoms, recovery, etc. are completely different. You seem to be saying that COVID-19 & HIV are similar, when nothing could be further from the truth.

Yes, I take stupidity & erroneous, misleading information personally because there is a lot of misinformation out there. I apologize that I'm not a mindless sheep that believes these erroneous comparisons - sorry! HA! HA!

I don't get why people are acting like this is a revelation. Like, wasn't this known for months? Person to person transmission has been the main source of infection. We've known that. It is still entirely possible to get infected from touching a surface with the virus though, so I would hope that people wouldn't take this as a false sense of security, and act less cautious around potentially infected surfaces, which I fear is what's happening with this CDC confirmation. I've already seen people misinterpret it to think they can't get infected from touching surfaces with the virus on it.

Maybe Barnes & Nobles might want to reconsider their policy of quarantining touched books for five days.

Default Latest Study on Hydroxychloroquine/Chloroquine

A large study of hospitalized patients in 671 hospitals on 6 continents has just been published in The Lancet. Whenever I post the link it gets redirected to something else for some reason. Just go to The Lancet homepage, scroll down to "Online first" & click onto:

"Hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine with or without a macrolide for treatment of COVID-19: a multinational registry analysis"

Here's the conclusion:

Quote:
Interpretation
We were unable to confirm a benefit of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine, when used alone or with a macrolide, on in-hospital outcomes for COVID-19. Each of these drug regimens was associated with decreased in-hospital survival and an increased frequency of ventricular arrhythmias when used for treatment of COVID-19.

These findings suggest that these drug regimens should not be used outside of clinical trials and urgent confirmation from randomised clinical trials is needed."

I saw something yesterday, if you don't get the Stimulus by mid-June, you are out of luck and will not be getting one at all.
I still haven't gotten mine.

You'll still get it eventually when you file for 2020 next year. It will just increase your refund amount or reduce the amount you owe.

I don't file. Not for 6 years.
I'm disabled.
I'm not required to.

People travelling from overseas into ports & Airports into The Republic of Ireland will now be required to fill out a mandatory passenger locator form from next week. The form is required to be filled out by overseas travellers to increase the rate of contact tracing from Irish health authorities to reduce the risk of further possible cases of Covid-19 coming into the country.

The new regulations will come into effect from the 28th of May. It will be expected to last until the 18th of June although it will be reviewed.

Upon arrival into Ireland; they will be required to fill out the form & self-isolate at their address for 14 days. Failure to comply with these rules will result in a heavy fine and/or a 6 month prison sentence. RTÉ News has reported this evening that the fine for not complying with these new rules from next week could be as high as €2,500. There will also be spot checks carried out by Gardaí & the HSE on people who do not fill out these forms.

Exemptions to these rules will be applied to supply chain workers & people travelling from Northern Ireland.

Ireland has also hit a little blip today on hearing this evening's briefing for Covid-19 in Dublin. There are 11 new deaths & 115 new cases being added to the list as of this evening. That is a problem because the number of new cases for Covid-19 in Ireland have been below 100 new cases per day for the past 6 days which is not great news to hear.

The British Home Secretary, Priti Patel, has said at today's British government coronavirus briefing that new preventative measures to prevent a second wave of new coronavirus cases on the UK border will be implemented from the 8th of June.

People arriving into the UK by plane, ferry or train will have to fill out contact forms & will be enforced by police to do a 14 day period of self isolation at their current home address. Alternative accomodation will be provided by the British government if people fail to provide an address on the forms. Spot checks have also been applied by British police in England by the British government from the 8th of June. Failure to fill out forms in the UK will result in a £100 fine. Failure to self-isolate in England will result in a fine of £1,000. Governments in Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland will be allowed to enforce similar penalties. Exemptions to these new UK rules will be applied to essential supply chain workers like road hauliers, healthcare workers, seasonal agriculture workers & people arriving from the common travel area which applies to people living in Ireland, The Channel Islands & The Isle of Man.

I also heard a story last night about a huge illegal block party which was held in Florida last weekend.

The block party which had taken place from Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning had to be broken up by police as it was probably known to be a health & safety risk. There was a total of 3,000 people in attendance at the block party as it was originally held as a memorial party for a victim of gun violence in the U.S. People had then took part in riots with police over accusations that the party had to be broken up because of scenes of violence & racism. 7 people were arrested by police over alleged exchange of guns, drugs & carrying out violence on police at the event.

Reminds of how my sister was supposed to quarantine for 14 days when she got back from her recent flight. She didn't do it. So she's one of those who agree with everything our governor says when it's convenient.

I posted the video and it was deleted. No idea why, as most of these things go.

They previously said you would be able to claim it even later in the year if you didn't receive it. Real nice. I'm still waiting on mine. Many people have their paper returns sitting in a dark room in a pile right now at the IRS since they're not processing paper returns currently. So how can they do this?

I didn't file last year either, but I sent in a paper one this year. I see a trend.

Serious question - why don't people file electronically? so much easier.

New York was about 7500 in April and around 2500 so far this month. So 5000/8000 = 62.5% New York. But the math could be off several percentage points either way.
I did the math according to the Worldmeters figures, and it turns out that Mifunefan was right (as usual). Practically all of the decline was New York. The rest of the country is a wash from April to May. What's unknown is how much increased testing capacity has affected the case counts. The more you test, the more cases you'll find obviously.
