Agreed. However, there are people out there who are apologists for looters/rioters & those destroying businesses. Yes, these criminals are spreading the virus & also contributing to our economy going downhill - but many don't want to say too much against them for whatever reason. These scum need to be imprisoned & in many cases, worse.

And my argument does make sense from my viewpoint. Because i have no issue with anyone protesting anything because that's everyone's right. My point is you should either criticize everyone for doing it or no one. You can critisize people for why they are protesting or how they do it but not for protesting. And everyone who is doing that is not following the rules, whether it's people who agree with the lockdown or not. Rules are rules and yes, they apply to everyone protesting right now but they also apply to protesters who disagree with the rules. Like I said. It goes both ways. People supporting the current protests can't criticize past ones. But people supporting past protests can't criticize people for currently protesting. So if anything, if there is a second wave people collectively are responsible. You accuse others of having double standards, well so do you. |

The world's media is now reporting that Iran is now going through a 2nd wave of Coronavirus for the past day or so. The number of cases in that country since than have hit record highs for their population. This could be a complete disaster for anyone making attempts for themselves to avoid having a 2nd wave of the virus. But does it spread any further fears or worries, now that the entire world is in lockdown, that the new waves of cases could only be confined to countries that have had major trouble in the initial stages with getting the virus defeated in the 1st wave?
I think countries who are going this scenario now, who already have had cases from the 1st waves of the virus, may now need to make further restrictions on their air travel operators operating their businesses. I think the air travel operators now need to be told from various health officials in each country that they cannot fly people in their planes to or from countries that now have a confirmed 2nd wave of the virus until further notice. This is sending a message to people that even though air travel has taken a huge hit from the virus around the world; there is now an imperative being called on these businesses to take extra responsibility to protect more people from Coronavirus. Iran itself has already banned internal travel within it's country to avoid a 2nd wave of the virus but that has appeared to have failed. The commitment hasn't gone very far in making a difference in not getting cases. Air travel either to or from Iran would need to be banned next on the list by various authorities when it comes to protecting of the virus. |

Last year (2019) was more fun living (without this very nasty virus).
This year is no fun, and we're not even half way through the year. Next year? Who knows ... * I too I've read that Corona is a virus that affects many organs of the body and could be for long periods of time (in the people alive). Tomorrow, from the stats we have so far (innaccurate according to many experts), the number of deaths will surpass 400,000 worldwide...Coronavirus related. Something I noticed recently; recycling depots are jammed packed. @ least here in my area. That's for bottles, all type of bottles, cans, cardboard, plastic bags, etc. ...Jammed packed like I've never seen before. |

I'm sure that there are places in lockdown but it most certainly isn't the entire world.
I was out shopping today, at several different places. At the largest mall in town, the food court was packed. It was delightful to see people sitting at the table, passing around french fries. I went into the video store in the mall. Didn't buy anything. Later, I went to a thrift store and picked up several books and some sewing supplies. We aren't quite back to normal. Movie theaters are closed...but bowling allleys are open. Schools are partially reopened. It's getting better every day. |

The current protesters could just as well say "the anti-lockdown folks didn't follow the rules. Why should we?" Just like you are complaining about double standards. While the truth of the matter is that most people are probably not following the rules anymore. Again...whatever happens from here on out happens because of everyone who's not following the rules anymore, no matter what side you're on. And everyone will find someone to blame because shit's probably gonna hit the fan. The curve hasn't been flattened and there are no lockdowns anymore. The jewish funeral situation could have been handled differently but no one was able to have a funeral for loved ones at that specific point. And they knew that too. You have to convince more of us to go to school and become licensed so we can get more people the mental health care they need. Part of the problem, aside from the ridiculous tuition costs at some schools, is we are a very poorly paid profession, which doesn't give potential mental health experts very good incentive to get the degree and enter the field.

I work in retail (luckily backend stuff and no customer interaction) but we reopened to the public this past week and have been slammed every day like it's Saturday. Doing $200,000 in sales on a Wednesday when we normally do $70,000 or so. People CAN'T WAIT to get out and shop again. We've been just about tripling our sales budget every day.

Cases in the U.S. have dropped from their peak in April of 32,000, to around 22,000 today. Holding steady there there and not dropping any more.
Solid line is the seven day moving average Seven day moving average of deaths dropped below 1000 for the first time. |

My company reopens on Monday. We're not supposed to let anyone without a mask inside so I hope I don't get any of those "I have a right not to wear a mask" types. I'm not getting into confrontations with anyone over this. There are also severe restrictions on who can come in. I just KNOW I'm in for a tough time going forward. I got too used to sitting in a dark lobby all day watching youtube while we were closed.
