1) covid-19 is extremely contagious. So any small nit community or event with one person that is infected will in no time become almost everyone is infected. In south Korea a re-opened club, one night out and one asymptotic person made over 100 people sick https://www.reuters.com/article/us-h...-idUSKBN22P0NO here in Quebec, a bit under a month ago, the gouvernment asked the military for help with the worst hit long term health facilities (combat medics and nurses and stuff and stuff not for military confrontation). https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/cov...omes-1.5571607 4 of the young (and one in Ontario) at this point in time 4 (+1 in Ontario) of these young, strong, previously healthy people with protective gear have caught it. so is it possible that in a small town the cases would be disproportionally high, absolutely while in the next town there is none? absolutely 2) I don't remember who it was, but ask the poster that got the serology test, it comes with a warning that says "positive" is meaningless. They have a high rate of false positives. |

those mockups don't look very realistic. People need to be able to squeeze in to the window seat and they need to reach lower for kids.
A simpler solution would be a curtain type of scenario you pull down or pull forward. |

https://www.fda.gov/about-fda/fda-or...-research-cber could be leveraged or intimidated by unscrupulous forces into inappropriately shifting its standards in the decision-making process with regards to the risk-benefit analysis and green lighting a vaccine which shouldn’t be approved despite a pandemic, something dobyblu alluded to weeks ago. Sure, for life-threatening diseases, the law gives FDA a certain amount of discretion in shifting that balance, within reason. I hope that the vaccine regulators are left to do their work, ethically, with zero interference from anyone. Not to mention, if things go wrong, it will bring the misguided anti-vaxxers out of the woodwork with zeal, again. |

So for the guy in the front row ... I guess they searched for "man who likes to let his balls breathe while he strokes his chin" from the stock image site?
Will be interesting to see how all that perspex fares during a crash landing. What happens when you bend forward you're under the coverage? |

![]() I've also known people who get false negatives. So go figure. Bottom line is that they're notoriously unreliable. |

1) let's say that girl walking goes to the second row window seat[INDENT]a) it will be very hard for her to pass and if she can she will need to be extremely close to the first row people b) if she removes the mask in the aisle (easier to do then the cramped seat) or the guy in the middle seat does not put on a mask when he gets up for her to pass then any droplets will fall on the people in the first row 2) I get the room for the arm (needs more space then the head, but t if one of the people turns their head ( the girl or guy to look pout the window, the two guys to the corridor, one of the droplets would fall below the arm opening and so will land on the other persons arm. ps if we are talking aerosol then there will always be some reaching others before it goes through the planes recirculating system. |

Seems to me like making people wear masks on planes while providing them disinfectant in each row is a lot easier and effective.

It's not that. Prolonged wearing of masks is not healthy and very uncomfortable. Many people would get headaches wearing them for a 6 hour flight, not to mention those feeling claustrophobic or feeling like they were suffocating. Even those who wear them as part of their job are able to take a breather every few hours, and they are used to it.

Those dividers will not protect you from powerful fart plumes. Better be wearing a mask and goggles. |
