My company has taken the approach of letting the customers do whatever they want. If they want to wear a mask, good. If they don't, whatever. They're letting everyone in. So far there haven't been any incidents other than mask-wearers complaining to staff about non-mask-wearers. No customer fights or anything...yet.

Thankfully, the majority (at least 98%) of customers in my store have abided by the "must wear a mask" rule, and the few who walk in without at least look properly chagrined when I politely inform them they must wear a mask next time. I have yet to encounter a person in real life who has pulled the "Mah rights, 'Murrica...!" shit when it comes to enforcing mask rules.

Are they cutting how much staff you have on?

My parents, sister and sister's kids are driving together to a city in another county to enjoy themselves this afternoon/evening. Thankfully they won't get CO-VID 19 during this outing because they always follow the rules when it suits their purposes.

Nope. They’ve brought back every single employee they had three months ago.

I was out and about with a friend again yesterday and people with masks are practically non-existent now.

Went to eat inside Poncheros (a fast food Mexican place similar to Qdoba and Chipotle) and none of the guys working had masks on, neither did any of the customers in line. They also had no lids/straws out for the drinks, or no napkins either.

and with regards to masks, scroll down a bit for what’s new (e.g. fabric masks should consist of at least three layers of different material) –

^ above video is from Las Vegas' Cosmopolitan hotel resort (pretty cool place, highly recommended). Of note, there were maybe 5% of the people wearing masks while 100% of the employees did.

well I just found out a reason why couldn't go to crawdaddy for lunch today had to go to char instead

there was a sign that read "Having found out that one of our employees has tested positive for COVID-19, we will be shutting down for a period of time to let our whole staff get tested and have time to get their results back

It's terrible of me to have these thoughts, but I can't help but hope that everyone gets what they deserve.

ahh I forgot to mention little group of protesters right across from char at the courthouse where I lived at this afternoon

I really don't understand how anybody can stand outside in that heat this afternoon with signs up mostly teenagers and adults with mask on/no mask

Why don't you tell your boss to order some surgical throw away mask and give the option of selling to those without at a small profit. Win / win instead of barring entry and creating a possible unwanted confrontation.

No excuses for these business to not spend a couple hundred dollars and give this as an option. Should of been a requirement of reopening imo.

Lol weren't you the guy the other day who responded to my post with me questioning why they are handing out permits for protest's while keeping small businesses shuttered, and you told me that I'm mixing up protestors and looters, meaning you clearly are in support of what is happening in all city's and that's ok. But you completely didn't even read my post and what I was trying to say but was clear you are supportive of the protest taking place and no not everyone is wearing mask at those either!

But here you are actually hoping for innocent people not breaking any laws to catch this virus and die. And yes you are right, it is terrible of you! You don't get to play both sides here sorry!

where i work...

we've been open the entire time; albeit with shorter hours. but even with that, we've been breaking $1m/week ever since. people that couldn't/can't go to their job are coming in to buy stuff. it's basically like black friday almost every day. and at first it sucked because it made everyone so tired, most people were on edge over this whole thing, and us not being properly staffed on some days. but as it went along, it got a bit better, people started being mellowed out a bit and not so uptight. plus, with the extra business, it really helps the day go by quicker.
we've hired ~15 new people (which is normal for this time of year for us, anyway), so that's really helped with all the extra business we have.
also, we have no requirements for people to wear masks. if you want to, good; if not, that's good, too. and that goes for employees and customers. we've had only a few customers ask why we aren't all wearing masks. and we just tell them the company left it up to the person as to whether they wanted to wear one or not.
