I wonder if this will effect the mail? Honestly I don’t go to the store a whole lot and it has nothing to do with the virus. Besides my wife does all the shopping now she’s worried to get out a lot. But I just Order my stuff from amazon or other websites.

I received Frozen II today.
I have Chernobyl coming at the end of the week. I have 1917 and a couple others, which I ordered a while ago, coming a bit later. I am pretty sure that's it, as far as films on order already. But I certainly won't be holding back if something comes up. How delivery will work, who knows? |

As for the original question, I guess I'm not doing much differently. I don't buy that many Blu-rays a month, but I bought a few yesterday for the HPB sale. Got a couple cool CDs too, as that's where my collection stretches into the thousands like people's Blu's on here. And that's just CD's. Don't even get me started on records/tapes/8-tracks/etc. I need to thin out! A lot of stuff I used to listen to as a kid that embarrasses me now. At least when I hear it, I'm taken back. But no, I'm really not curbing my habits too much. I'm not super worried, maybe I'm being naive or too optimistic, but I'm not panicking. I'm being careful, but I'm not living in fear. |

Completely stopped ordering blurays. No point putting any expectations on etailers/distributors to supply when in all likelihood we're all heading towards total lockdown if we're not there already in our respective location. I just don't see the point in making purchases that will be up in the air.
Saying that though, I guess the argument could be that, if this thing lasts 2yrs (not saying the lockdown, just the pandemic) then smaller etailers/distributors are probably going to be relying on pre-orders to get them through the bad months of lockdown, so perhaps we might need some transparency between dealer and customer where they tell us "look, we need your help, if you can just order now and we will ship ASAP" then that could potentially save businesses. |

The entire point of all of this is to try and prevent hospitals from being overrun. You lose the hospital system, everything else crumbles, and people start dying left, and right, which then causes even greater panic, which probably leads to an increase in violence, and crime, and so forth
So if we can flatten the curve, we can mitigate the spread, and manage it so that hospitals are still able to run okay. In some places like Seattle it might be too late,. It that's not the case for most places in the country yet. |

Who’s actually surprised? They’ll never see the light of day again as long George Lucas doesn’t want them to.

Some of the responses here are missing the point a bit, particularly the lamentations because the current measures won't "contain" it. I have some experience with virology, and told my wife when it was first well described (in December & January) that it would not be contained in China and would become a pandemic, no matter what was done Tbh, it was never likely to be contained due to the characteristics of the virus.
Thus, these measures are not meant to contain the spread, or even to reduce the number of overall infected over the course of the pandemic. Instead they are designed to reduce the rate of spread, so that hospitals are not overwhelmed. The mortality rate seems to rise by around 3x when medical infrastructure is overwhelmed (as was in Wuhan, or parts of Italy now). That is what is meant by "flattening the curve." |

And then, on the way home, I stopped by a local Very Fancy Restaurant that had shut down, but was doing a makeshift drive-thru so they could remain open, keep their staff employed during a rough time, and provide a service to the community all in one go. And as I went to take the ipad to swipe my card without thinking, she pulled away - and I didn't even make the connection: "Yes, of course. No touching! Quite correct." Crazy times, my friends. Crazy times. |

I'm atchually inclined to believe the Chinese numbers. I've not spoken to a doctor yet that doubts them.
