Default Gremlins 30th Anniversary

Gremlins Blu-ray

Zach Galligan has Tweeted that Warner Brothers have contacted him to be interviewed for the 30th Anniversary bluray of Gremlins.

So, it's definitely coming then.

Wonder what's planned - a whole new transfer for starters I hope.

That interview is likely the only new thing about it

Ha, I bought the original BD release when it was a Target exclusive, then I recently bought the steelbook from Zavvi when it was on sale.

As far as the transfer goes, it looks fine to me. I don't recall if this one was lossless or not as far as audio goes.

Haha, yeah you're probably right. I've calmed down now and reassessed the situation. The interview will probably be 5 minutes intercut with 2 minutes of clips.

Some friends and I saw Gremlins at the theater back when it was first released. That was the last time that I watched the movie in its entirety, and I've only seen bits and pieces since, but I've never forgotten it.

I might be up for a new Blu-ray to jump back into childhood nostalgia full tilt.

Depending on how much of an improvement an upcoming release is, I'd be willing to double-dip. Gremlins is a classic.

Yup, along with some sort of gimmick packaging.

Me too. I actually saw it as part of a double feature with Ghostbusters.
