Quick question for owners of this set: it's listed as being region-free on the blu.ray.com info page. Has anyone confirmed this? I already ordered the German steelbook, but I know that one is region B locked, and I prefer ordering region-free releases whenever possible...

i have the US bluray and that is region free
the one i have is dolby digital true HD 5.1 or just dolby digital
Vivendi .

Not yet. I picked up the large packaging version today and still no amaray.

So, is the Aussie set region free? I looked at a few retailers selling this online and got conflicting info. Anybody who has this that can confirm? Thanks!

I have it and it is indeed region free.

Thanks so much! I was thinking of getting the Japanesse release of this but it's waaaay too expensive. I was knocked out with the HD sound on both the individual releases of Planet Terror and Death Proof and was disappointed with the Grindhouse lossy US Blu. Plus, I really like the swag on this release. Thanks for the heads up! I appreciate it!

The Lossless tracks do sound really good.
I was in the same boat. I have the standalone releases and was not about to put up with DD tracks at 448kbps.

I hear ya!

It's curious that almost every site that offers this Blu insists that it's region B. The German release states that it's "region free" on the cover but the discs themselves are region B. It would suck to order this Aussie release and find out that it's not playable. Did you play it on a US region A player, like a PS3? Just curious.

I tried it on a PS3 and a Sony BDPS350, both US machines.

Thanks once again Brett! The Aussie release is definitly on my radar. If it wasn't so close to Christmas, I would order it tonight!
