Thanks!
As far as I understand, Dolby Vision for cinema and Dolby Vision for home use the same SMPTE ST 2084 PQ. Dolby Vision for cinema doesn’t have dynamic metadata because the projector for the theatrical grade and the projector in a Dolby Cinema theater are the same type: no need to carry out the color volume mapping. ![]() https://vimeo.com/174552891 ![]() https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.ph...&id=1500554934 ![]() I will add EclairColor and IMAX Laser HDR as soon as they are using for home. Since Amazon isn't using the "final" version, is Samsung/Panasonic/Fox planning to update the format in some way? Also, and maybe 2themax can shed some light on this, is the version of the format that was accepted by the BDA the "finalized and fully signed off" format? |

![]() I think this booth really attracted those CES regulars still suffering from withdrawal since 2012 due to the absence of the coexistent AVN Expo (https://www.cnet.com/news/how-will-c...ut-porn-stars/). Plenty of folks ventured in to see what it was all about (including me ![]() ![]() ![]() Any guesses as to what they were promoting inside? |

Seen an article about this supposed controversial demo yesterday on the daily mail UK website. I was hoping it would be Mr. And Mrs. Bixby by Samsung ![]() |

This ^ tech should be scalable to even LARGER sizes, e.g. 100” with time. Taking a leadership role into thee most significant parameter of Ultra HD Phase 2, I really liked LG bringing more awareness to the assembled press as to the value of native 120/100 fps input and rendering out . Which means that 2018 LG tv owners should, until more content becomes publicly available, at least be able to properly view this demo - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...e#post14556365 in order to gain some insight into the clarity gained with increased temporal resolution. As to Sony and the futuristic X1 Ultimate processor, it can also handle native HFR as well as boasting other qualities as mentioned….. |

Fundamental question (this should be simple for the gadget dudes, but at CES they were clueless) -
What natural occurrence is close to 10,000 nits? (the original developers of HDR(EDR) on the tech staff at Dolby Labs liked to make reference to this back in the day to professional working groups, but I’m not sure if it ever made it into the plethora of marketing info about HDR on the internet) |

But the BDA won't have approved a half-finished edition (though is that actually official yet?), it needs to be set in stone so that the relevant formulae and whatever can be laid down into the authoring spec. I'd look to Amazon for answers as to what their "version" entails rather than ask questions of Samsung/Panasonic/Fox. |

"NBCUniversal will be offering coverage of Olympic activities during the PyeongChang, South Korea games in the new 4K High Dynamic Range higher-definition format.
NBC Olympics will distribute the 4K HDR coverage, provided by Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) and Japan’s NHK, to U.S. distribution partners who will individually choose how they will make the content available to their customers." http://www.broadcastingcable.com/new...c-range/171029 |
