I just went to watch this movie tonight and was pissed when it wouldn't play DTS HDMA (no sound). On their website they have a replacement program in place for that exact problem. I just got done sending the email right before I got on here, funny.

I watched it once in the theaters and have watched it once on blu ray after buying the 4 pack. Still the lamest one of them all. There was nothing original about it. The one-liners were re-hashes from the first one. This was nothing but a riding-the-wave and making-a quick-buck from the first one.

My order of the four best to last: Die Hard 1, 3, 4, and 2 on the bottom.

#4 wasn't that bad but I didn't get caught up in it like I did #1 or #3

I don't know how many will agree or disagree but I gotta figure 15 years in the movie business has gotta add some credibility to my $.02

I never saw #4, but it would be very hard to believe that it could possibly have been worse than #3. Horribly written (those ridiculous "riddles", that sign that McClane was forced to wear for no logical reason whatsoever), acted (particularly by Jeremy Irons, who should have been forced to give back his Oscar, especially for that incredibly lame accent) and casted (the cops, other than McClane, looked more like car salesmen). What a piece of shit...#2 was MUCH MUCH BETTER

I agree with every word.

I think Die Hard 2 is unwatchable -- as one who loved the first film, and saw it three times in the theater on original release -- I could not believe how poor the sequel was. The lame dialog, the contrivances, the characters who behaved as if they were conceived by a 12 year old...and don't get me started on the whole "planes unable to land at another airport for hours" plot nonsense...I can't stand this movie. Loved the first one, liked the third one, the fourth had bright and dim moments, but the second? I just pretend it didn't happen, like Alien3 and Lethal Weapon 4.

I think you need to watch it again, there's plenty of detail there. The movie has always looked soft

What?! Did we look at the same movie? That movie's PQ is excellent for a movie 20 years old. It always been a soft looking movie, but the detail is exquisite.

I agree, I think the Picture Quality is unbelievable for such an old film.

So whats the deal with the disc, that the DTS MA track isn't there? I don't have a receiver yet, but when I have one, I want my disc to have whats advertised.

The problem is DTS HDMA doesn't always work when bitstreamed from a capable BD player to a HDMI v1.3 receiver with a DTS HDMA decoder. I my case it is just dead silence (DMPBD 30 and DTC9.8). They are replacing the disc for this problem if you are affected. I emailed them last night but I haven't heard back yet (weekend I'm assuming).

I have the same setup as you except I have the onkyo. Did you get a reply yet from the email that you sent them? I sent them an email and then saw that they had a support number. I called them and it seems like there's one person who runs the whole thing and she didn't even have a clue. She couldn't understand half of the stuff I was telling her. I said that I didn't have any sound when I selected DTS MA. Her reply was, what's your problem? Oh my god lady get a clue! She finally gave me an address to send it to but I wasn't confident about it. I don't want to take the chance of mailing it out and not knowing if it's even going to the correct area.

I have no idea if my copy is affected since I have a PS3 and no DTS MA, but I sent in an e-mail anyway. Thanks for the info.

Add me to the list. I have the Pioneer Elite 95HD Blu-ray player & it's complete silence when bitstreaming the DTS-HD MA soundtrack.

I just emailed Fox. Please post if anyone hears back from them by email or phone on how to exchange it for a corrected copy.
