Follow-up description (1 min. 45 sec. listen) by a member of Dolby’s Advanced Technology group at the 1 hour 18 min 1sec timestamp of the webinar -> https://www.smpte.org/education/webc...motion-imaging
As mentioned on Robert's shootout thread, would have been nice if he could have included in the shootout a short evaluation for this phenomenon given it appears he has a decent sample size of observers. |

Ok I have an LG OLED TV. Clearly ultra HD with HDR
I thought i could tell the resolution Netflix is playing but i can see it or find it my controller has no option either. I do have the ultra HD plan with streaming set to High. Anyone to verify the resolution? |

gkolb, bruceames et. al, where are you?
This by the Kaleidescape rep at Robert’s shootout today sounded rather unsettling regarding physical media at ~ the 6h36m51sec timestamp – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dckeYOaQYs#t=6h36m51s I hope it doesn’t ignite further ‘the sky is falling threads’ which seem to crop up every now and then. |

![]() and I’d like to see if their ^ conclusions as ascribed to the value of 8K televisions at the 9 ft. viewing distance (and more importantly, beyond, which is more typical for many of us) be independently corroborated with real world UHD Blu-ray movie content (rather than specially rendered static images) by more than 6 folks (their study) with the observers having absolutely no affiliation to consumer TV manufacturers including potential indirect perks (that includes AV journalists) before I jump into purchasing an 8K tv for home viewing. |

![]() Another error, most of the time when I see a digital release that precedes a DVD/BD/UHD BD release, that time is only 2 weeks and only some studios do this. Someone should have informed him that UltraViolet is shutting down as well as Sony Ultra streaming. |

Question for those in the know. Is there a reason why Kaleidescape doesn't use Dolby Vision? Are they in the same boat as Disney with why they aren't releasing DV on disk (since downloads are the same size)?

Kaleidescape is used mostly in projector based home theatre. There is no need for DV.
