This ^ information is extremely cutting edge in that the project is still in the early preliminary stages

Lots of behind the scenes work goes into the development of feature films, for instance for Top Gun: Maverick, although not reported in the following underlined hyperlinked article, studio people visited the San Diego office of The Tailhook Association in order to study Naval aviator information in their archives to gain insight.

You’ve got me over a barrel there PM.
My view of Disney is a little more jaded today after they swallowed Fox and turned their eye on streaming, kinda like Sauron 👁.

I associate a completely different thing when I hear the term "Tailhook".

Next year is the 30th anniversary BTW.

Xbox Series X Doesn't Support Dolby Vision 4K Blu-ray Playback?

It appears that the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray drive on the Microsoft Xbox Series X won't be supporting Dolby Vision playback, based on a tweet by Mr John Linneman, a content creator at Digital Foundry, who had early access to the next-gen console.

If true, then it's very likely that this is because the Xbox Series X is using low-latency Dolby Vision, just like the Xbox One X.

To clarify, the Xbox Series X will still be able to play 4K Blu-ray discs (even Dolby Vision ones) in HDR10 without dynamic metadata.

No matter what comes out the end of the pipeline, nor the collaborators involved (in this case - the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology), I tend to be more open minded with regards to the art and science at the beginning of the whole process, e.g. - https://news.stanford.edu/2020/10/22...h-res-display/

Full disclosure:
I’ve been admittedly biased toward Stanford University in terms of the topic of HDR - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...d#post14650075
and vis-à-vis my wife, Stanford Medicine.

He entertaining, but his sources cannot say whether a FW update to the AVR's is doable or not. Right now its one of those whoops moments when you had nothing to proof out operation of 4K@120hz when it was designed. It happens.

Does your HDR TV really show you HDR accurately?
Interestingly, one of the most popular HDR TVs doesn't!

That was a stain. Fortunately, ‘the aftermath resulted in sweeping changes throughout all military services in the Department of Defense regarding attitudes and policies toward women’. He’s been beating that drum for a while now; nevertheless, WOLEDs do have capable uses such as for reviewing a Dolby Vision bitstream that’s going to playback on some consumer device, viewing dalies, near set monitoring and although shouldn’t be used as a reference grading monitor, have been very popular client TVs (i.e. consumer TVs) in the mastering suites of Hollywood studios for viewing Dolby Vision content, and for good reason – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvcb...title#t=27m27s

Entertaining or not, just because Panasonic screwed up when implementing the HDMI2.1 standard in their first-generation chip, which has then been used in early first-generation products does not in any way make what his utterly ludicrous click-bait headline says, to be true.

"HDMI2.1 is officially broken" = False. His hyperbole does everyone a disservice. And his white gloves are just stupid.
