The capabilities of the device that connects to a Chromecast are irrelevant, they just pass a URL to it. The Chromecast itself then does the actual video streaming and decoding. They could of added HEVC/VP9 decoders to the new model and changed to HDCP 2.2.

That is mostly due to 3d, more and more are being finished at 4kk.
Actually the Chromecast would have to know what res to use, and the URL may not be the same for the 1080p |

I said, That's a good question'."…… http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/...ox-televisions |

It looks artificial to me and forced, they have to remaster everything also and a tech making that master bugs me. But I know I am alone in this. ![]() |

thee HEVC Main 10 encoded MP4 file version of the above mentioned ^ HDR clip produced by Fox is now freely accessible to any regular-Joe consumer having an HDR TV which can detect SMPTE ST 2084 PQ EOTF and SMPTE ST 2086 mastering display color volume metadata….. by internet download from here - https://mega.nz/#!7oFiiY4L!qC6HuWoIw...UnFGe-WM6w0hww I think you will find it (45-100Mbit/s) to be natural looking, unforced and far from too bright to induce visual discomfort, on the contrary, subtle dark details are clearly visible which would not be so with truncated SDR. |
